2uzfe 4.7 Tundra 07. Truck was running rich af on both banks according to o2 readings. Lost alot of power and hearing the valves when giving gas. Changed spark plugs and removed cats but kept the o2 sensor. Truck is running worse than before. Ordered some 02 sensor adapters to try and fool the ecu. HAS ANYONE DONE THIS BEFORE AND DOES IT WORK?

Removing the cats was the first mistake.

I believe that now. But is there a way to make it run efficiently without the cats?

There should be check engine codes, what are they specifically?

You could have something as simple as a dirty/broken MAF sensor, a malfunctioning fuel pressure regulator, a clogged air filter, etc.

Deciding to lop off your catalytic converters because you have a rich running condition is like asking to have your left arm amputated because you have a wood splinter in your pinky finger.

Seems these Tundra are very dependent on the o2 sensors. I chopped off the cats because I thought they were clogged. I was wrong. So im going to reinstall the 1 cat on each bank. Are aftermarket cats ok such as Flowmaster etc or is it better to find stock cats to reinstall? Truck is running very rich.

OEM is what you want. Clogged cats will glow from excessive heat or show a lot of pressure if you put a pressure gauge in the upstream 02 sensor hole.

URD sells a O2 simulator that modifies the reading from the rear sensor, I don't know if it's been used on a tundra but I used it on my wife's 2uz 4runner which has long tubes and no cats. What afr are you seeing? I didn't think the rear sensor actually affected engine performance, and was only there to tell the computer if the cats are working and nothing else but maybe I'm wrong.
