I'm interested in blacking out all my emblems. I've seen plasti dip. But was curious if they have overlay kits. I've seen nox lux, but they say 2014-2017 only. Any advice would help! Thanks!

Weathertech floor liners and ventshades. TRD rear sway bar. TRD Pro exhaust, TRD Skid plate, Fortin EvoOne Remote start from Anderson Electronics.
There are sets available in black on Ebay. Most all emblems available in black for everything other than the platinum badge which it looks like I'm going to have to plasti-dip myself.

You can also alternatively buy a rattle can of paint matched touch-up paint on Ebay as well.

Look up youtube vids for taking the old ones off. Seems like fishing line works best and a hairdryer if it's cool out.

All the sets I've seen are for 2014-2017. And I'll buy them, but wanna make sure they'll fit. And then I'll have to dip the last Toyota tundra emblem on my tail gate. They don't offer the overlay for that one. I could just plasti dip them all. But I'm lazy, and the overlay kits seem perfect. Hopefully someone who has 2013 will read this that has tried to put them on. Ha

If you have to paint/dip one, you might as well do them all. They come off easy. 20lb fishing line and a heat gun/hair dryer to loosen adhesive and the come off easily. Use some goo gone to remove any left over adhesive and buff out the area when done. All will come off in 20-30 minutes. Then paint/dip how you want them and reatach with 3m double sided adhesive.

Or you're spending money on overlays and paint. Save the money and just buy the paint to do them all.

    And welcome to the forum

I removed all plastic badges after 1 yr.....then I order the 5.7 IForce badge from the dealer from the Tundra pro and was a little bit of pain in the ads the replace but looks great when done so those two are the only badges I have left

Yea, I've watched a ton a videos on plasti dip. And you're right, if i have to dip one might as well dip them all. I appreciate all the feedback!

I dipped all of mine and the maintenance on them is something I never want to deal with so I just debadged every badge on mine and there ya go no more worries of redoing the plasti dip when it gets messed up and looks really clean debadged. I like debadged better than blacked out badges personally. Look how dirty it was under my emblems! That made it look bad too when the emblems were on.20180511_103305.jpg

Edit: My gf said I should have left it like this and it would have had a transparent look to it lol

Should be able to use goo gone. It cuts through the addhessive and dirt. Clean with microfiber towel/cloth. Then use a sealant/wax and go over that area again with that.

I used a whole pack of floss and a hair dryer to get the emblems off. Hair dryer to heat it up then the floss to cut thru the adhesive on the back of them emblem. I used a little pulling action on the emblem so I could get the floss behind it. Then used my fingernails and a hair dryer to get the bulk of the adhesive tape off. Keep in mind I don't have long fingernails. Then was left with what was on my pic. At that point I used what I had, WD40 and magic eraser. WD40 is safe on paint and it softens up the dirt and adhesive and the magic eraser is great for any dirtiness on a vehicle that has white paint to degrease it. I went thru hardly any WD40 but used 2 magic erasers because they fall apart after awhile. This method everything went really smooth and would've been done in 3 hours total until I got to the last badge that was the hardest and took almost 2 hours just for that badge! I've heard that goo gone can be bad on paint but as long as you don't leave it on there for extended periods of time, this goes for WD40 also and clean it with a cleaner it will be 100% safe. I used a can of general purpose car cleaner to periodically clean the areas I was working on then used a spray wax to completely clean it off. I'm still left with a very faint adhesive mark on some of them and plan on using my buffer to wax it but I don't even notice it only when your at a certain angle and are looking for it you can tell.

Plastidip will last but I didn’t want to worry about chipping them when I wash the truck. And overlays leave gaps around the edge so I went with replacement black badges off eBay.

I used a heat gun, 20lb fishing line, Whizzy Wheel and GooGone. If I polished and waxed the area, you would not be able to tell there was a badge.

My friend tried using the eraser wheel for his cars pin stripe and it stripped part of his paint down to the metal. I would never use those personally.

Plasti-dip is great stuff IMO. On my old Tacoma, I replaced the chipped front bumper with a chrome one and plasti-dipped the faded black plastic parts on the front bumper. Looked great and held up very well(ie looked the same from the day I applied it) for the 14-15 months until it was wrecked(RIP)

Prep is key IMO like any paint work. I didn't sand my black plastic parts, but I did wash them with dish soap and water, then wiped them down with isopropyl alcohol and a lint free towel. Put like 4 or 5 coats on them, used a can and a half of the black plasti-dip.
