    Hello,
I have a 2003 tundra extended cab, and the top half of the door doesnt sit flush against the weather stripping. There is a dent right below the mirror but im more conserned with water getting in and what the best course of action is without buying a new door. If the photos upload in order the first is the driver door and the second is the passenger door which is fine.

Did it get bent out from a locksmith prying it out to unlock the door?

Sorry, but its really hard to see the lines of the gap. You think you can post a couple a little later when theres plenty of light?

Edit: have you tried running a waterhose to it and seeing what happens?

I didnt use a water hose but i poured a cup of water on to the top and some water definitely gets through. I have never used a lock smith, its from a medium sized dent under the mirror the previous owner left, Im uploading new pictures.

That looks like a tricky one.
Depending on the dent and the access to it from the inside of the door..

You might be able to pull off the door panel and attempts to straighten/correct some of the damage. I guess its safe to assume the damage is structural, right?

Or see if there are any PDR (paintless dent removal) companies that will give a free estimate.

Tough call, but i would at least take a crack at it myself. Well, if the paint is chipped i would. If the paint is still fine id call a PDR company.

Do you think i could maybe fix with realigning the door? might be cheaper cause the dent doesnt bother me its the wind noise

It a reasonable possibility, but thats coming from a diy type of person. Its something i would determine based on how easy it would be to access the dent when the door panel was off.

Some vehicals you have big openings with workable room. Other vehicles its near impossible to get a hand in there.

Well the paint is perfectly fine where the dent is. Ill look in the morning if anything is off with the bottom part of the door. Because the rear half door is higher then the drivers door and when the door is shut i can push the very top of the door closer into the weather strip. might also take to get looked at by a body shop and see what they think

    You have some DIY options.

    1) Use a paint roller as a wedge in between your door and frame and slightly/gently bend the window frame back in a little at a time. You need to figure out where the roller goes and where to push but you get the idea.

    2) Use some thin weatherstripping and tuck it under the fold of the upper gasket lower crease. This will build/puff out the OEM strip enough to stop the whistling.

I’ve done these 2 things to my 02’ as the door was pulled open hard during a wind event and tweaked it out of shape. I also was able to tighten up the bolts which helped some. You may want to fix your dent first and tackle the DIY after in order of process.
