So it's 90 degrees today, I've got braided fishing line and Goo Gone, got wild hair and decided to debadge my black truck.

It was going great until I got to the Butt Ugly XSP-X sticker. I figured the heat and some goo-gone would take off but Iveas wrong.

So any tricks to get the stickers off? Maybe 3M ERASER TOOL?

    Thanks.

Besides picking at it like you have. It sounds like it’s hot enough so the heat gun wouldn’t do much I bet. 3M eraser sounds like a good idea. Have you tried laying a googone soaked rag on it to hopefully soften it up?

Have not tried the rag but have repeatedly sprayed it - to no avail. LOL

3M Eraser Wheel should work. I removed my pin stripes with it. Once off I removed remaining remnants with finger nail polish remover. You will have to eventually give it a good buff and wax.

I used a hair dryer to heat just ahead of where you are peeling. My tss decals came right off.

I think I will get one of those 3 M eraser tools - are there different kinds of the 3 M eraser?. In other words do some take off stickers and decals - vs another type that takes off pin stripes and whatever. I assume its one tool that does it all.

Yes. Check out ebay, they are cheaper than buying straight from 3M . That's where I got mine and free shipping.

If you’re not careful with a 3m eraser you can go right through your paint!! Be careful if you go that route. I’ve heard of lots of people struggling to get these and TRD stickers off. I personally just give it a good amount of heat with a heat gun and it comes off in one piece. How much do you heat it up?

I used this on the thick gummy gray badge glue, should shred that sticker right off. Heat the sticker with a hair dryer or heat gun first. I didn’t know those wheels can damage paint, I attached it to a cordless drill and went gangbusters, paint unaffected.

I use this, it will soften it up plus remove excess sticker residue.

I didn't use a heat gun, just left it outside in sun for about 5 hours in 90 plus degree heat. It was almost too hot to touch.

When I remove wraps for a company I work with, I have to heat it up with a blow torch and make it too hot to touch to get any of it off. I do not recommend using a blow torch on your truck but I do think if you gave it a little more heat it should come off no problem. Too hot to touch is good.

Yea they can be hooked up to corded drills and grinders as far as I know. I've seen paint damage from them but who knows how hard they were getting after it. It is definitely a good tool. I prefer my hands but takes much more patience and is way less fun lol.

^^ Way better alternative to goo gone, I don't think goo gone works at all personally. Smells nice.

I use a heat gun in a waving motion but use my hand in work glove as a gauge. If I can feel it, I stop, don’t want the paint to blister.

I bought that vinyl decal removal tool off Amazon. Holy crap. It's awesome. Took my 10 minutes and done to remove both xspx decals. Thanks for the tip!
