Not long ago I replaced my lower control arms with OEM arms. It hasn’t been a year and I’m getting the jumping on mattress sound again.

OEM Toyota parts don’t go bad this quickly so I’m thinking I need to grease the rubber bushings. Fairly sure the sound is due to water and dirt from trails. Rubber bushing are in perfect condition so gotta be a lub issue?… right?..

Im leaning towards silicone spray grease. Is this ok to use or is there something else I should use on the LCA bushings?

    thanks!

Well my bushings were bad which caused the noise but I just changed my LCAs. I know WD40 sprayed will eliminate the noise for a while so thinking the right grease is the way to go.

The jumping-on-mattress sound is something you just can't avoid with polyurethane bushings. I thought all OEM arms came with rubber bushings, so I was susprised to read your initial post.

Anyway, Bob's your uncle, his advice to use silicone spray is spot-on. You'll probably want to repeat this every 6-12 months, or when the squeak inevitably returns. I wouldn't use grease just because I've read horror stories about poly bushings breaking down due to additives in some lubricants. SuperLube would probably be fine, but I really don't know...

I love the longevity of a poly bushing. I hate the squeak and how brutally rigid they can be in comparison to rubber.
