HVAC, AC Case Parts

After replacing the servo assembly, i still had no ac in dash vents. Other members suspected I had the timing off, aomi removed the servo assembly to take another go at it. When I removed the servo assembly a plastic white arm fell off. I suspect that wasn't supposed to happen. Photos are attached of the details. You'll see the arm that broke off. It is the tip of a fluted spindle that flares out on the ends and passes thru at least the drivers side of the AC Case, and possibly the passenger side. I'm looking for the part.number to the AC Case so I can start looking for a spindle to replace the broken one. So far, I see an entire assembly listed as number one, and all parts attached with their individual itemized number, excluding the AC Case. Thanks for all your help.

 

Did you ever get the spindle that broke off? I'm having a similar issue except I broke the gear/arm that sits to the right of it. I'm having to get a whole new assembly for just this one little part. Was wondering if you were able to find just that arm. What a pain!

 

No, I didn't. I still have AC but it comes out of the defrost and face venta only. My best guess is find a "pick-a-part" junkyard to see if they have your vehicle. If they do, then I'd recommend getting the part from there instead of the entire assembly. That's what I'm gonna do when I've had enough of it and finally give in lol.

 

I'm in Montana and don't have that option unfortunately. So, it's either spend a couple hundred on gas or have a junkyard send me one, so i'm at the later. I can sell you whatever you need off of the old housing.

 

My mechanic did the same thing to my 2008 Sequoia to my servo/evap assembly.

I told him it was tricky but he proceeded to ram the replacement servo assembly and cracked that same lever from the evap assembly.

This is the part you need. Its the whole assembly that needs replacing not just that lever.

My understanding is that you have to take off the whole front dash to replace and install.

 

note that there's a difference between the housing assembly for trucks with auto-AC controls and manual controls, and between trucks in a regular or double-cab and a crewmax.
