I just purchased this front setup to replace my leaking Falcons, and the Icon kit suggests 0-3" of lift. I only want about an inch...they come from the factory at the "desired" ride height setting and show about 2" of threads exposed...I realize I can only assume, until installed, the ride height is roughly 2"...can I lower/lessen the exposed threads to show maybe 1.5" or 1.75"? Here's a quote on the coil over install manual: "YOUR ICON COILOVER ASSEMBLIES COME SHIPPED AT ICON’S RECOMMENDED RIDE HEIGHT. REDUCING DROOP TRAVEL WILL REDUCE RIDE QUALITY. DO NOT PRELOAD THE COIL BEYOND 2.00” OF EXPOSED THREADS BETWEEN THE BOTTOM OF THE TOP CAP AND THE COIL ADJUSTER NUT. ADJUSTING PRELOAD BEYOND THIS SETTING WILL CAUSE THE COIL TO BIND AND DAMAGE WILL OCCUR TO COILOVER AND/OR VEHICLE."

What do you suggest...? I am NOT upgrading to UCAs as I don't require or desire enough lift to warrant it...

Hey man, so I have this same setup up front, with the Billet UCA’s. You can absolutely lower it to get your desired ride height. I want to say every full revolution of the Coilover adjuster is +/- 1/8” of height adjustment. You’ll have to mess with it a bit to get it perfect, but I’m happy with them.

it will also depend how much weight you have up front. (I.e. Heavy Bumper, Winch, 4X4, Etc.)

Edit: Just realized these are for the IR version. I have the External Reservoir CDCV’s but the coilover adjustment is exactly the same.

You can turn them down for less lift. They will ride better.

the issue with the uca has to do with droop. They can extend farther down than stock shocks. Your stock uca will be the limiting factor on down travel, which probably wont be the end of the world for daily driving

I have these also and as others have stated you certainly can fine tune your ride height. I did front/rear 2.5s and RSB at the same time. The truck feels nights and day different in a more planted to the road kind of way.

Badass! Thank you all for the suggestions...I have an Icon setup on my wife's 4runner from 2013 (2005 4runner) and they've been amazing but I haven't messed with adjustments since than so I wanted to be sure my thinking was correct. I understand the extra 2" of droop/shock travel will be limited with the UCA but at this point, I'm no longer jumping driveways so I'm hoping it will be negligible if anything. I'll have no extra weight up front other than light bars, etc...no bumpers or winches. Thank you all once again! I'm excited to throw these buggers on! SOOO much nicer, larger, complete than the OEM/Falcon setup I currently have...but as it should be for the price!

Do you think I should top off the nitrogen charge on these prior to install? I've heard from shops it's a great idea to do so but I'd rather not wait my turn to get in to knock it out...
