    I'm in the planning stages of my suspension build and was wondering if anyone was running with Icon Multi-Rate RXT Leaf Springs? Thoughts/opinions on them? It's between these and the Deaver U748s. Currently running with a RTT, bed rack, Decked Drawers, & soon to be installed metal rear bumper so I'm looking to help out with the additional weight. Thanks

    I've got the Icon RXT pack with limited experience so far. With bed rack, RTT, and dual swingout rear bumper, option 3 was too tall and too oversprung for my preferences. I just pulled the RTT and bed rack and swapped leafs to option 1 (accidentally, was trying to do option 2) and the packs are now flat and the rear sits too low. Option 2 will hopefully be ideal for ride quality and height (including coachbuilder +1 shackles).

    The main advantage I've read about the RXT pack is the travel that they can achieve in conjunction with the offset lower mount RXT shock. Coming from a 4runner with long travel rear suspension, on IFS rigs getting the rear to flex a lot to pick up the slack is a great way to keep things more stable on obstacles without sacrificing ride quality. So for an off the shelf solution, RXT gets my vote for adjustability and designed to work with longer shock options.

    I’m running the RXT with option 2. Currently just the AT habitat and some gear (4-500 lbs). Works very well.

    Did you upgrade the shackles too? Saw your truck in the icon vendor section, that habitat is my goal later on in life!

    So I don't have any experience with either of those springs mentioned but I have had great experience with my setup.. I'm running around 1,000lbs over factory in the bed at all times. Bedrack, hilift, decked system, rtt, generator at times and large bins for camping gear and maybe soon a rear bumper. I also pull a 34' tt every few months when jobs change. So far I have around 10k tow miles on them.

    I had my factory springs re arched to achieve 3" over stock height then I added 2 new leafs per side with the option for a 3rd small leaf (not installed) which basically would just give me a little extra height. And I have shackles but they're currently set to no lift.

    For around the same cost depending on who may do them or even cheaper in my case than the packa you mentioned it may be worth looking into.

    Wheeling Moab, UT. Syawbar was still connected and my shocks limit my travel so I've got to move the mounts on the axle soon. This was loaded down with camping gear, generator, food, cooler etc.

    2"CB shackles, bushings and 1 shim, lockerdown console vault, rear folding seat back mod, snugtop shell with opening side windows, 46g fuel tank, SDHQ sliders and hidden winch, Decked Drawers, Alcan leaf springs and got rid of the interior chrome
    I run with about 1100lb static weight.
    Used icons for a while but they flatten out pretty fast. Bought custom Alcan springs and with the 2” CB shackles, am very happy. No sag when towing boat or trailer, and the ride is still very smooth.

    I say go with the RXT pack. I'm currently running them set at the 1st set up as they have it when shipped & the coachbuilder +1 shackle.

    Everything else is factory TRD pro. Only swapped in the icon leaf pack.

    I love the habitat. Huge amount of space, quick setup and pack down, lightweight, all aluminum

    Not sure yet, still need to swap them out tonight and get some drive time on it but will report back.

    Reading through other user's posts (mainly BashFab) it also made me think of the all important question, what do you plan to do with your rig? You've covered the weight question but do you want to do pavement? fire roads? gnarly trails? ever plan on towing anything heavy regularly? Not sure if this changes my vote away from RXT but if you don't need the adjustability or shock travel there are many other cheaper options to get the rear up and ride just as nice.

    I'm running the RXT leafs on option 2 with stock shackles. I'm running around 400-500 lbs in the bed with my Go Fast camper and some camping supplies. I still gained around 2" over my stock TRD pro setup with +3 Coachbuilder shackles.

    For those with the rxt and cb shackles, what lift do you have in front? I’m thinking of adding them with option 2. I already have cb +2 and was wondering how high I have to go in the front but keep a little rake. Or if I should get +1 shackles.

    The main use is trail riding, forest service roads, gravel, etc...but since I live in midwest, I'm usually on the highways just as much as the trails. But it's all with weight added no matter what I'm on, I keep it loaded even if running around town.

    All leafs currently available will flatten pretty quickly if you keep all that weight in the truck. If you get your truck weighed and let them know your rear axle weight fully loaded (the equipment you listed + people, water, gas, food, firewood... everything), Alcan or Deaver can sell you a built-to-order pack. BUT I bought an HD pack from Deaver and it already shows settling (back lower than front) when loaded... driven hard but only a few trips fully loaded.

    It’s not quite ready for mid-travel trucks but PapaSmurf and osidepunker on here are developing a kit to allow install of 3” wide leafs, which will better support the loaded weight of our already heavy trucks.

    Answer to your question: neither of the two pack options you listed will hold up more than a few months for the weight and use you described.

    Yes I’ve read their post a few times, the waiting has me pausing on that thought and looking at my two options that are available. I’m looking to buy within the month for an extended trip in May of this year.

    Option 2 with +2 shackles you could lift the front 3-3.5" and probably still have rake depending on your preferences. Option 3 with +1 shackles is over 4" of lift in the rear and a couple inches more fender gap in the rear with 3" of front lift on mine.

    With the constant weight and no towing for an off the shelf pack run the RXT option 3 and hope it holds up for your trip!

    I understand. Yeah, the delay is waiting for the leaf spring manufacturers. Custom packs always have a long lead-time, so it’s tempting to buy one of he ready-mades.

    Proofs in the pudding pals. I use the shit out of my truck and have been running these rebuilt leafs for over 6 months now without a single but of sag since putting them on and that's with heavy almost to limit towing. I know I'm a bit overweight with all of accessories in the bed at all times but they've surprised the hell out of me. As mentioned above have your truck weighed and let them know what you want out of it. This was my exact process when I had mine re arched.. I've built so many leaf packs for my and my buddies Tacoma's back in the day with very good results. You don't have to spend a ton of money or buy name brand to get the results you want. Also hardly any downtime. Took me about 30 minutes to pull the factory leafs and one day to have the shop re arch and cut/add new leafs and had them re installed in even less time than take off the same day I got them back. So essentially a 1 day turn around once the shop had the leaf material on hand. I'd look into this option really hard.. it's essentially the same damn thing as the icons or whatever just without their name on them. My taco ran several different bastard packs as it went through the stages but I finally swapped to 63's at some point and never looked back but if I need to adjust I'll just chop and add more leaves to them as well. Takes no time and cost hardly nothing when you source donors from the junk pile

    How long did it take for the Alcan leafs from order to shipped for you? Were they 2.25" or wider?

    Took about 4 weeks, if I remember correctly. My set has 8 leaves on the passenger side and 9 on the driver side.
    This provides me a level truck since the battery, 46g fuel tank and I are on that side

    The Alcan springs are made to be the exact fit for our tundras. I’m pretty sure 2 1/4” is correct.

    My only recommendation would be making sure the shop you choose has knowledge in it. I was very fortunate and found a good one in Tucson that was known for doing beefier setups. I believe I even found info about them on the forums and It all went super smooth. They made me new ubolts and put new bushings and everything in it. I had the option of any style bushing I'd want as well.

    This was all i needed. And i again i happened to be right near this place so i hit them up and made it happen.

    Swapped the RXT pack to option 2 tonight with +1 shackles. Sits perfect now. I'll need some more drive time to assess the ride. They aren't quite flat but the sure aren't very arched.

    Icon 2.5 with 700ln springs. No idea what stock height was, I suppose I could get some hub to fender measurements but I'm going to estimate 3". They're not set up to max preload.

    thats a good idea. I have a slight lean with my custom Deaver when the tank is full.
    when its time to re-arch, I might have them do something similar.

    They all have new u bolts, bushings are always provided. Alcan was very good to work with, for me.
    My attempt to work with deaver made me feel like they were idiots. Icon didn’t seem to offer what I needed.
    Try em all, make your own decision

    Thanks. I want option 2, but want to still have a little rake and keep it low enough to fit in the garage. Did you order them with 700lb springs? Where did you get the springs if not.

    What size tires do you have? I think I want something like your setup.
