Any suggestions on removing the rubber ignition coil boot stuck down in the cylinder around the spark plug?
I went in to replace my spark plugs and half the rubber on one of my ignition coils broke off inside the cylinder around the spark plug. I've tried using long pliers, a screw driver, and making a shim out of a coat hanger to get down in the there to try and hook onto the rubber to pull it out but no luck.

Two long screw drivers down at same time and wedge up slowly.

Can you put a pretty long screw into it and use that to yank it out with needle nose? I'm actually picturing cutting the business end of a corkscrew and using that with needle nose.

I had the same thing happen on my 03. I had to get in there with a long-handled exacto knife and cut a slit down the side of the boot. Then I was able to grab it and pull it out with a long-handled pair of forceps.

Thanks for the input. I finally got it out with a combination of long needle nose pliers, long screws, screw driver and a shop vac. It was so stuck and brittle that it broke into pieces whenever i got any grip on it so i essentially broke it up and removed the pieces by hand and with a shop vac.
A royal pain in the ass for sure!
