Cannot turn ignition key. Wheel jerk does not resolve.

How violent were you with the wheel jerk? Put some pressure on the key and slam the wheel back and forth like it just took the last beer and the last slice of hot pizza.

Sometimes you have to hold the wheel turned one way or the other while trying to turn the key

Could also be a worn/wearing key. Do you have a 2nd/spare key to try? Or have you?

When this happens to me, I usually pull and hold the steering wheel to the left while turning the key at the same time... usually it works... my brother told me to shake side to side and it usually releases and you can turn the key...
