Both my original and spare are giving me issues. I was going to get another key cut and see what happens but watching a You tube video it looks pretty simple to change with no chipped key needed.

Does it matter what brand of ignition tumbler gets used or are they all pretty much the same thing?

Looks like they're all around $60

You can try having a door key (no chip much cheaper) cut and see if that works ok. If it works then have a chip key made you will need the chip in order to start. In any case you need a automotive locksmith.

Have you tried shooting powdered graphite in there before you change it out? It might buy you a few more months or more.

I thought I read gen ones aren't chipped.
I also thought I didnt need an old key taped under the dash and a simple replacement with a new key is all you need to do......I could be totally wrong. I'll call the dealer but if anyone has first hand knowledge feel free to comment
