Sorry for the ignorance; you'll have to get the Crayons out for me.

I recently purchased and installed a Harbor Freight "Roadshock" 22 in. light bar. I as well bought their wiring kit for said light bar.

The kit came with a switch that's pretty basic and not my style. When turned on it illuminates and off there is no illumination. It is a 3 wire switch.

If I want an OEM style of switch, then it'd have to be a 4 wire switch to illuminate once I turned my regular headights on correct?

    Thanks,

    Zach

Correct. The 4th wire would tie into your dash lights and come on when the backlight of all your other switches come on. https://caliraisedled.com/collectio...ducts/small-toyota-oem-style-light-bar-switch . Cali raised is one option that offers an OEM style look and the words will illuminate with your other switches, then the small lightbar graphic will only turn on when the bar is actually on. Might be exactly what you are looking for.

Right on. Looks like I'll be ordering that bad boy! It sure would be nice to see where the switch is for fast ON/OFF reflexes. Thanks man!

Lolz yeah there are definitely some funny ones. I am digging the Pirate ones. BUT, knowing me...I am willing to bet I'll get the good ol' "LED LIGHT BAR" one.

I don't even use the replacement switch ones. I hate punching through the firewall so I decided to go with an under the hood controller that I can add to in the future.switch panel.jpg Switch Controller.jpg

Holy shit, I've seen some videos of those hardcore Overlanders with these things.

Punching through the firewall was the single worst thing I've ever experienced while modding this truck. Tight as a bullfrogz azz.

Yuuup. That's why I decided to do it only ONE time!!!!! And I can still add what ever I want down the road. I bought this Amazon knockoff - https://www.amazon.com/Auto-Power-P...jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ== , not the best and I certainly won't trust it with anything high current but I like it so far.

switchpro and spod type are definitely the way to go if you gonna wire a bunch of lights. you only go through the firewall once plus they have all the relays embedded in
