How can you increase the oil change mileage settings from 5,000 to 10,000 ?? - I know how to reset the mileage setting after the oil change, but I want to increase it, so it doesn't come on every 5,000 miles... - It's a 2014 SR5 4.6 Liter 4x4

if you have the ffv engine, it would be set to notify you at 5k, regular 5.7 is 10k. I do not think the reminders can be changed, and that you can only reset the reminder.

Someone with a new model will chime in

I don’t think you can change it, as it’s more of a maintenance interval than specific to oil changes. There are maintenance tasks on the 5k interval that would fall between the 10k OCI.

That is most likely locked into the firmware of your ECM and probably not even changeable with Techstream.

You piqued my curiosity and I went out to see for myself. I found what you're talking about and THAT'S COOL! You can set reminder mileage and/or dates for all kind of services. But does that setting change the default oil change maintenance reminder as well?

Hmm…good question. I have my reminder at 5k miles so I don’t know if the alert I get is from that screen or some embedded code in the truck.
