Is there any way to fix this without unclamping the boot? I’ll pull the axle if I need to. Any help is appreciated!

There’s hardly any angle at all. Coils are set to about 2.5” with a diff drop

Did the joint pop out and rotate?

Nope, I 4 wheeled pretty hard over last weekend and it never skipped a beat. No weird noises or anything. Works perfectly fine.

Looking at the line on the boot, looks like the boot rotated.

I have the same axles, you can take the little clamp off and burp it. Need to use these clamps, not regular ones. Mark the axle at end of boot for reference.

right on thanks!! are those hose clamps strong enough to get a good seal and to where the boot won't side up and down the shaft?

Could this have something to do with the issue you posted with your diff mount? What was the issue there?

I don't think it's related, the outer clamp somehow spun a little bit on the inner CV joint causing the boot to twist. As far as the diff, I couldn't tell you lol, it looked like the bushing was blown out so I took off the diff drop spacers to inspect it, the bushings looked fine so I kept the diff drop off and tightened them back up and now they're fine.

Yes, bunch of us use them, pretty common. They have a soft edge on them so they don’t tear into the boot. A27481EE-1BAA-411B-AB23-133F8880DF04.jpg

    Looks like the boot vacuumed
You might be able to get away with placing a straw or similar to release the air suctioned inside. Whenever I rebuild axles I do this, mount the axles give it a good cycle to release as much out as possible. I try to stick with oem/band clamps, just need to since em down real good with the right tools. Hose clamps Work well. Just don’t bite them down too hard or they will cut the boot.

I tried the hose clamps on the large end of the inner boot on the passenger side and they actually hit the bump stop mount. Not sure why as the driver side seems to have more clearance. Hope they work for you.
