Two days with the Toyo at3s 35x12.5x17 with +20 offset wheels and I haven't had any rub. I will say that I did remove the mud flaps and pushed the carpet liner a little to give some space. It was the first 2022 the shop installed tires on and they warned that it would "probably rip the bumper off", but we were both pleasantly surprised to see them barely touch the carpet liner at full lock. I'll post more picks later on.

I'll still most likely remove the body mount piece in the front (couple bolts) until I get the Wescott lift to be safe. At least until a true lift and suspension comes out.

Averaging about 15.5 driving in "Normal" mode. I'm guessing it's a little higher than that if you account for the speedometer adjustment for bigger tires.

That's not bad. How do you adjust the speedo?

I think what he’s saying is technically with the bigger tires you’re actually traveling further than what the truck thinks. So if that was factored into the MPG read out, it would actually be better.

Dealer can do it. I've looked into it but it's not worth the $200 to me. If you know somebody with a Techstream device they can do this and some pretty amazing other stuff too.

Running 35"s......I am getting 15.8 MPG on the dash with "city" driving; when I fill up I actually calculate 16.9 MPG with a calculator/pump math. On a recent road trip with 75-80% highway driving I ended up getting 18.1 MPG for a full tank. Mind you the road trips involve driving over the eastern Cascade Mountain ranges or the southern ranges on the borders of WA, OR and CA.....

Overall I am very happy with the numbers.

So I am contemplating selling my 2020 Tacoma for a new tundra. Truck is neat and lot of things I like.

but with 285/70-17 4.88 gear I manage 16ish on a trip with no head wind and anything over 70 seems. Strong head wind trying to do 70 I have been as low as 13s.

Then factor in pulling I think I’m gonna have to get back to a full size.

The Tacos are rough. I test drove one and it wouldn't stay in 6th at 70mph on flat ground because of a head wind. They so lack in the low end torque department that they are having to rev to keep themselves going which I think hurts them.

My Lexus gx460 with the 4.6L V8 is on 285/70's and is averaging 18.2 mpg on the dash(so more like 19.5 since my speedo is off almost 8%) after two 70mph trips down to Salt Lake City.

I have to say the gears and tune helped the truck a bunch.

    Blows my mind though.

I'm coming out of a 2018 Taco on 31s (265/75r16) and have 34s (275/65r20) on the Tundra. I'm seeing better MPG now than I did in the Taco.....

Yup (Also no lift, no suspension mods, and no modification to the fender liners or factory mud flaps)

did you go with the D or F load rated AT3s?

My thoughts are the F are overkill, but wondering what others are going with…

I hated the color until I had mine in the driveway. The color is amazing in person but very non-photogenic. I would totally buy this color again.

I thought the same. I had been waiting for some backordered Mickey Thompsons and they finally came in. Those are D vs the E load Toyos. I definitely like the road feel of the Mickey Thompsons better than the stiffer Toyos. Not a huge difference, but noticeable enough for me.

Wasn't sure if you saw this, but the TRD lift kit looks pretty promising and is more than a simple suspension lift.

The lift kit announced by Toyota will be available for almost all 4×4 trims of the 2022 Tundra. Customers will be able to lift their truck by 2.6 inches while also leveling the front and rear nicely.

The factory TRD lift kit is made up of tuned Bilstein front and rear shock absorbers with taller TRD coil springs, TRD front lower knuckles, front extended axle-shafts, front stabilizer links. Front outer tie rods, front tie rod sleeves, and several other upgraded parts.

If the cost starts getting close to 4K I will probably opt for a full adjustable kit from King or Fox. Solid options coming though!
