    Hey Fellas,
Im looking to install a Winch. Is there a way to do so without changing the front bumper? I personally like the Tundra OEM bumper and prefer to keep it but need to install a Winch. Does anyone offer a setup for that ? I prefer the WARN winch. Thanks

I went southern style off-road website and it looks like I will need to change or cut the center black piece of the bumper and install theirs. This is completely different than the picture posted by @gosolo .
This looks like it was installed within the OEM bumper. Screenshot_20200411-204836.jpg

Yep, in fact mine was the second one they made and used the install for the photos in the installation instruction brochure

That's cool. How do you like it? I'm assuming you live near by these guys? If I don't, is it easy to install? I couldn't find install videos on YouTube for them .

Yes they placed it for him. He was in Arizona, but recently moved to the PNW. The bumper should home with instructions. Not sure about the winch. I have to do more research myself on winches.

Are you able to reach in and access the winch clutch? It looks like extremely poor access, but looks can be deceiving.

Correct, regarding access. The design intent utilizes a wireless remote that includes control of the clutch.
    Pros and cons to this.
Some people have installed other types of winches and made small modifications to the grill allowing access to the clutch.

There are access holes on both sides of the license plate, I can reach in no problem and turn the clutch.

I like it okay but probably would not do it again this way.
    1) Because it’s tucked in so tight, it’s hard to cleanly respool the cable.
    2) I don’t like being reliant on high level technology that I can’t easily understand and repair.
    3) the wireless remote incorporates a small constant phantom drain that over long periods will help make the battery dead. (This can be turned off by accessing a little switch lying on your back and reaching up from underneath. This will turn the winch entirely off, and need to be turned on again to use it.

I’m not sure which hidden winch bumper you are talking about, with access holes on each side of the plate, but that is not the case for any SDHQ hidden winch bumper I have seen
