Is there a trick to re installing the kicker panel? I can't seem to get it to line up with the white mount on the inside.

Thank you! That makes sense now. I've literally tried close to 100 times now, the thing is a pain in the ass.

Those were a pain. I had Toyota redo mine while I was in for service. I tried a dozen times and couldn’t get it back.

Mine have been popping out pretty much from day one. I push them back on place and after a couple of days they pop back out. I stopped worrying about it 5 years ago.

I've had that panel out at least a dozen times in the last year. Every time I have to pop the white clip from the truck and reinsert it in the slot on the panel before putting it all back together.

Remember: the clips are angled, so you have to assemble at the same angle or you will fold the clip or the mounting tab, thus bulging the panel.

I just went through all of this last Friday. I finally gave up and had my wife try it. While she was trying to connect it, I found an older post like this one. It took minutes to get the panel on after putting the upper clip back in the kick panel. I left the lower one attached to the truck wall and could slide the kick panel over it. .

This panel is the worst for me to put back together, took me about a thousand of cussing, putting the thing back down and start again . But finally got it put together but still doesn’t look correct.

Did you take the clips out and install them on the panel?
