I'm going to be putting in the spc ucas tomorrow morning. I looked for a thread on what you need to remove under the hood to get the inner through bolts out. @LOTSOFTOYS told me a few months ago but I don't remember. Is it just the battery on the driver side and the cai on the passenger side? I want to make sure I've got everything out of the way before putting it up on jacks with the wheels off.

Only thing I had to take out with my SPC's was the battery on the driver side. Was able to make it work as is on the passenger side.

Thanks Joe, I'll probably give it a shot with just the battery out of the way. I'm pretty sure there is something else that I was advised to remove. Guess I'll find out shortly! How long did it take for you to get yours installed?

Control arms were pretty easy. Maybe a 30-40 min each side?

I think I can get it done without removing the battery. One bolt holding the battery harness to get it out of the way. And on the passenger side it looks like just two clamps to move some hoses and the bolts should slide right out. The rain has stopped for now, time to get busy with it! I'm still contemplating whether to put the cb shims in to get a full 3" of lift. Hmmm...decisions decisions.

So, I think I'll just do the ucas for now. Then add the shims when I get bigger tires down the road. I picked up a set of spidertrax wheel spacers as well in case I have tire clearance issues.20170708_130428.jpg 20170708_130921.jpg 20170708_130927.jpg

I just moved a wire loom to get the driver's side bolt through.

Exactly what I am thinking. Now, if the weather cooperates I should have it done in no time.

Got it done! I went ahead and put the wheel spacers on. It looks a lot better and drives pretty good considering it needs to be properly aligned.20170708_195225.jpg 20170708_195135.jpg 20170708_195205.jpg

Total took about three hours. It rained off and on most of the day. So I did a lot of putting tools away waiting and getting tools back out. Actual time to swap each arm was only about twenty minutes. I didn't pull the battery. Just disconnected it and moved the positive cable loom. I also had to take the inner abs bracket that holds the brake lines loose too. Had to pull the lines forward a little bit to get a socket on the nut for the through bolt. Those suckers were freakin tight! I found the torque specs for the through bolt on another forum. Is 173 lb ft. Correct? Passenger side has two hoses and wire looms that needed to be moved a little. All in all a pretty easy job, definitely not a job I would pay someone else to do.

Hey Jace, I was going to call you! But I won a free alignment from RSG at toytec's grand opening right after I bought them! Unless you have time to do it for me this coming Sat. Getting it to rsg on Thursday is going to be a pain since I have to work.

Or you can check it for me when I have you do the 30k service. It's at around 29,500 now. So close actually close enough to just get it done now.

Thanks Chris! I'm hoping @LOTSOFTOYS was right about the alignment being the cause of the trac crap. Drove it through the problem corners a couple times without it happening and it's not aligned yet. Just eyeball and a level to get the camber close. Fingers crossed

Yeah, already made an appointment with them. I'll get in touch in a month or so to have you do the 30k. I might take care of the diffs and t-case myself. What else does the 30k involve? Recommendations on proper procedure for the diffs and t-case? Is the fill level the same as on my 1st gen, just a little below the fill hole? Special fluid, or just good old 75-90wt.?

I could have just looked it up. I do hate filling the diffs with a squeeze bottle or those crappy little pumps. But I do have one and plenty of 90 wt. Sitting in my shed.

Dropped the truck off at RSG after work today so they do the alignment tomorrow. It drove really good even at freeway speed going down a steep grade. Can't wait to see how much of a difference the spc ucas make when it's all dialed in.

Will do, picking it up after work tomorrow. Then I'm going to drive it as much as I can this weekend.
