Just bought a 2017 and I love it! But, my instrument cluster light isn't working. The center main screen works and will dim and brighten with the stem control but all the guages are dark. Is there a fuse I can check?
If the bulb(s) are bad is it difficult to pull the cluster out and replace them?
It's funny that ALL of them are dark, it makes me think (and hope) it's only a fuse.

    Thanks!!!!

    Alot of them
The cluster had leds. There is a small fuse panel under the dash by the emergency brake pedal. I would check all of the fuses under there. Is the backlighting for all of your switches working? I would assume that you are stating that the guages are dark at night with the headlights on?

What about all the panel lights? The ones for all the buttons on the dash, ac controls, radio, do they all dim as you turn the headlight switch on?

There is no fuse for the cluster gauge lights, they only come on when the headlights are on. The cluster only has two fuses total. If all the gauge needles and screen are working your fuses are good.

As stated above there are no bulbs in the cluster it is all small led chips soldered to the board.

The control for all of this is from the CAN network. As the headlight switch comes on, the body control module sees and and sends a message to the cluster to turn the lights on. A separate message is sent to dim the screen. If that is working your gauge needles are working then the cluster is receiving the CAN network data.

If I had to guess this could be a ground issue or worst case cluster circuit board failure.

Have you tried turning the little knob to the right that sticks out of the gauge cluster? It is the same one that you push to reset trip odometer.

My bad, in most modern cars ive driven over the last many years, the headlights had an "auto" setting which meant they were basically on all the time. On this truck, you have to turn them on and I haven't driven it at night yet. When I turned on the headlights, the instr cluster lights work.
My only excuse? The interior of this truck is black and the background color of the instr panel is black. I can't see the speedometer even in bright sunshine. I did turn the brightness knob but it had no effect, so I thought they weren't working. Thanks for all the help !!!!

On your speedometer on the left hand side (not the odometer knob) there is a knob coming out of the dash. Get in your truck, turn the key on (no need to start) and make sure the lights are off and press the knob once and see if the light comes on. On my 2018 each time you press that knob/button the light changes intensity. See if that works and report back

    The 2018 is very different.

The 2014-2017 trucks the lights on the gauges only come on when the headlight switch is turned on. It’s a poor design and one people complain about often. They should come on with they key regardless of headlight position, like the 2018+ trucks but they don’t.

yes this is something I hate. Wish there was a way to hardwire the cluster always on.

Yep, I complained to customer service at Toyota about the hard to read gauges especially when facing sun and or wearing sunglasses. Lady replied telling me to turn the little knob. I replied with "you don't understand the problem". I did not have this issue with my Tacomas but I believe the 2014 had white gauges. The owners of 2018+ can thank all of us that complained to Toyota.
