After much research, including looking at a lot of pics in this forum, I decided to replace my OEM plastic shell running boards with Iron Cross Patriots. I chose them because I liked the step width and the polished stainless steel finish, since I don't plan on dechroming my Limited DC. I really like them, but they stick out away from the truck more than I would like - about 3 inches out past the tires. Is this correct? They don't appear to stick out that far on any of the pics that I have seen. I have them adjusted in as far as possible until the bracket hits the lip on the bottom of the boards. Is this the way they all are or is there something wrong? Also, this is my first time inserting pics, so go easy on me if I screw it up.

This is how mine looks just make sure you have your brackets in the right spots. Yours looks to stick out a little more than mine.
I really like mine definitely helps on not getting any door dings. mines on a double cab though.74502D3E-3812-49AD-9B13-BC91A7C26ECC.jpg

    Not many yet, mostly stock.
Are they 6 “ wide? is there a possibility you have the brackets backwards.
whst does the Iron Cross web site say, you might call tech support on Monday for a Q & A session.
What did you take off of your DC?
I’m looking for stock flat side steps to replace my tube ones. Not wide enough.
Good luck with your new steps.

I can tell from the picture showing the underside that you don’t have the iron cross brackets. Those are the brackets that runningboard warehouse ships, which are their own design and somewhat universal. They also cause the patriot boards to stick out an extra 1.5” or so.

I know this because I had those. I sent pictures to iron cross and they explained it. I then bought the correct brackets directly from iron cross and now my boards are tucked in much closer.

Here’s mine, they look a little closer to the truck than yours but not much. I like these steps a lot.

Thanks Willard and Mick. I ordered my boards from realtruck.com (the website is very similar to runningboard warehouse) so it appears that I received their brackets and not iron cross brackets. I really like the boards. They are very functional as a step and door ding protection, and the tread is very good, so I can live with the look not being exactly what I wanted. From some angles they almost look like wings, so the only concern that I have is that my Super White DC is so fast, I'm afraid that I might actually take off if I give it too much gas! Thanks again to everyone for taking the time to take pics and respond!

I took these off. They are aluminum with a plastic shell. I didn't hate them, but my better half has an ankle problem, and I felt they were a little slippery, so I wanted something that offered more traction. Also, I kinda like the polished SS or chrome look better.

They look good. Dont worry about the take off from too much velocity. All the MGM folks know that Super White color decreases HP/Torque by a factor of 3. The truck will definitely stay grounded.:D
