Hey everyone. Been on Tacomaworld for the last 10 years making stuff and doing services for Tacomas and recently started making Rock Sliders for Tundras.

Currently making Rock Sliders for 2nd Gen Crewmax Tundras. If anyone is interested in giving me a shot to build them a set for their 3rd gen and is willing to meet up for measurements, I’m down!

Anyways, if anyone in the SoCal area is interested in a set or needs some other work done, like a Cab mount chop or suspension installed I’d be more than happy to help!

You can PM me here or you can reach me by call or text 3107412871

    Thanks everyone!

I will ask for many… what material do you use for sliders? Any pics of them being abused? Maybe picked up by a forklift? Tundras are super heavy

Hey Tony. So for tubing I use 3/16” square tube for main tube and legs to frame. Outer rail is optional. Standard is 1/8” wall HREW 1.75” round tube. DOM can also be added for an additional cost. 90% of the customers I’ve had in the past on most of the trucks I’ve done need good solid rocker panel protection. The sliders that I’ve built have been put to the test and have done well in doing their job of saving the rocker panels. I do all of this from my home set up, so access to a fork lift is a little tough haha. As for the other 10% that want to go really hard, we have done DOM which has faired well against some pretty tough obstacles. As for your question about the pictures of them being abused, I only really got started with Tundras recently so I don’t have any photos of those being abused but I could certainly share some Tacoma pictures haha. I’m pretty transparent about all of this stuff so if you have any other questions, I’d be happy to answer and if you see something you don’t like or you have concerns about, I’m willing to hear what you have to say and take it into consideration.

Nice, pics looks great. Any comments on how these compare to the sliders RCI brags about? They make a big deal about all their specs, DOM, inches, gussets, etc (I'm not super familiar with what all these terms mean other than "better/stronger" apparently). Your post says crewmax but I would be looking for DC / double cab. Anything you can offer here? Would love to support a CA guy and I'm heading down there in 4 months.

Hey man! Thanks so much for the kind words. I really appreciate it

I love RCI, I think they’re a great company. I’m definitely not that guy who is gonna say I make the best this or the best that haha. I take pride in my work and try to just be a cool person to deal with and put out a product that will serve its purpose well and look aesthetically pleasing while doing so haha! As for how they compare I can’t really say. But I will say that I’ve built + or - 750 sets of sliders in the last 7 or 8 years for Tacomas and a few other various Toyota models and through the use of gussets in the proper locations and using good strong grade 8 hardware and continuing to hone my craft with welding I am confident that these are strong and will protect your truck.

One major thing I tried to implement design wise, was that if perhaps you were to take a hard enough hit where the the sliders deflected enough to make contact with the pinch weld of the rock panel, the main square tube is directly positioned underneath the pinch weld so that it would displace the weight of the cab evenly throughout the whole square tube along the pinch weld, instead of individual points where the legs are. You would see damage at that point if the legs were longer or shorter. Hopefully that made sense hahaha. Kinda hard to type it out.

Anyways, yes these are for a Crewmax. Haven’t had the opportunity to design a set for a Double cab. But I’ll tell you what, 4 months is a good amount of time. We can start a PM between us and figure some stuff out. If I can find a Double Cab semi soon to grab some measurements off of then I’d be more than happy to make a set for you!

I really appreciate you wanting to support a smaller garage mom and pop style fab shop!

Hey man. I’m a pretty small operation from my home setup so no website and unfortunately i’m not equipped to do shipping quite yet. I appreciate you inquiring though. I haven’t had the pleasure of being able to do a 3rd gen yet so im actually really looking forward to being able to do a 3rd gen soon!

Right on man that is even cooler that you’re running it out of your house. The one you did on the black 2nd gen look really good. I’m from the central coast and have buddies and family in Santa Barbara.
I could have my buddy or brother scoop them up and then I’ll meet them.
If I lived closer I’d let you use my truck as a test dummy for the 3rd gen. My buddy in Santa Barbara has a 2023 TRD PRO tundra if you need one for measurements.
