This is my first time modifying and upgrading my 01 sequoia. I did not know to strap the spindle up before taking the lower and upper ball joints off. Didn’t know how heavy it really was so bungies weren’t enough. Is it supposed to lean forward like this? Is this normal articulation for the cv axle? Also this a a before photo, I now have it ratchet strapped instead of just bungies. IMG_2437.jpg

I am not a mechanic, but if you firmly grab the steering knuckle and pull it out away from the drive shaft does it move in and out or clunk around? Just don’t rip your boot. I am going to guess it’s “fine” because it would have probably flopped off and torn the boot already with that bungee cord setup if it wasn’t connected.

Thank you, it does not move or clunk I can just set it back in its original position and the axle spins all the way to the diff. That is as far as it goes.

you are probably ok those half shafts are pretty tough…. They can take a massive beating with a BFH to get them off to replace a torn boot and do just fine on reinstall….
