I am seeing a lot of newer 6-lug Tundra wheels for sale on book of faces marketplace. I guess these are coming off 2022 trucks and newer as people replace their wheels with aftermarket. Is there a viable solution for putting 6 lugs on a 5-lug truck? I am guessing not really since they would have to be out further and the offset. Some of these take-offs are decent looking and not too bad priced.327773205_6521550624527312_7548330234266895024_n.jpg

You'd have to call a wheel spacer manufacturer and see if they could do a custom set for you.

Our First gens have something different about the lug studs versus the third gen. I think lug stud diameter? Regardless, some dude went through the trouble of having custom spacers made so he could run third gen wheels. You'd have to do the same.

I think he said he spent somewhere close to a grand including buying the rims/tires used?

Maybe @shifty` could dig that thread up. I can't search worth half a fuck on my phone.

The only feasible way is with conversion spacers. I doubt that there are commercial spacers available for this specific conversion, so it will have to be a custom made set. It's possible, but you might pay more for the spacers than for a whole new set of aftermarket wheels.

You're talking about this thread: https://www.tundras.com/threads/3rd-gen-wheels-on-1st-gen.108450/

These 2 threads also have info, not as significant. It's a common question, I found the answer in 20sec using Search, even with it kinda blowing goats on this platform:

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/retro-fitting-3rd-gen-tundra-rims-on-my-06.117875/

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/6-lug-to-5-lug-adapters.56558/

But basically @Boerseun gave you the tl;dr right there ^^

ive got the new TRD wheels on mine, picked them up with tires and all. Only 3500 miles for $500. bought these hub centric spacers on ebay:

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/1663775390...ldLPjbbQKy&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

They clear perfectly with no leveling kit.
So far i have had no issues at all.

I wonder if the 3rd gen axle would fit under the second gen truck. Then you could find a wreck…

Not sure where you are getting that number?
It was $150 for a full set of 4.

Thanks, now I am back to decision making

It looks like the spacer bolts onto the current lugs and then there is a cover ring that goes over that and the 6 studs?

Yes there is 2 pieces, it is a cool design. Very well built in my opinion.

First layer can bolt on with included lug nuts. the thread is the same for both trucks and the spacer (14x1.5). The cool part is that, when you put that first piece on, the nuts sit flush in the holes almost perfectly. Which actually makes it more safe because when you put the next piece on, it sits flush on top of the other one and the other nuts which prevents them from backing off. Same thing applies with the second piece as the wheel sits on top of the allen bolts preventing them from coming out.
It helps eliminate the risks associated with having more bolts that can come loose.

FYI you will need extra lug nuts. I would try and get the factory 3rd gen ones.

How much farther will these stick out or what is the difference in offset?

I am trying to find the offset on the newer tundra wheels and how much farther they would stick out.
