I have a 2024 Tundra, Anybody having issues with the Apple Car Play staying connected? Mine has decided to start having connectivity issues to the JBL Audio system. Starts to skip, lose connection, pops up a Orange banner; Apple Car Play connection, and a Certificate Error, will eventually crash the system and it shuts off. Screen goes blank, if in navigation mode what your navigating to is gone after the screen goes blank. This all has started after the last remote update. Have taken it in and was told nothing wrong with it, to which I replied BS. They gave me a song and dance to remove phone from the system, remove the truck from your phone wait three days and reconnect should be just fine. It isn’t… So going back to the dealership. Just wondering if anyone else is having the same issues? If so, did it get fixed and how?

I was having issues with Carplay for a few days. Random disconnects, and then wont reconnect. I finally used the “forget” connection in the menu and reconnected the phone and its been fine since. I swear the phone software developers dont test anything, they just release it and hope for the best.

I have done that and it keeps coming back. Do you think it is as phone issue then?

I am quick to blame the phone since it gets updated more frequently. Android Auto used to have the same issues every time my Samsung updated. I hoped switching to Apple would be an improvement but you just never know what weird stuff to expect.

I keep my stuff pretty well updated, and I don’t Apple forces it. Trying to uninstall and reinstall see what happens with again.

I’ll wait and see if a new Apple update comes out and addresses Bluetooth connectivity issues

The whole “wait three days” is such a dumbass thing to say.

I don’t get it either, but I entertained them and it still didn’t work.

Perhaps I missed it, are you running the latest iOS 17.6.1? What model iPhone is it? Have u made certain your head unit in the truck is up-to-date? Have you tried different Waze vs Google vs whatever? How about streaming services like iHeartRadio or Amazon Music?

Have not tried to do what you described. Do not know how to update the head unit.

I wish I could be of some help on this one. I am having issues with my system right now as well. Not to your level. I found out that I cannot connect my Iphone to the truck in my garage. I have to start the damn truck back out and then turn the truck off and on for the phone to connect. Also, from time to time it will get stuck, and the screen says phone call in progress. Even though I am not on the phone. During this time nothing will work, no satellite radio, no apple play. Only thing works is to have a cord to plug into the truck or turn the truck off. The dealer is of no help. It works when I take it in. Hope it works out for you.

Mine started after the last Toyota remote update. Never had a problem before, after the update now I do. Not entirely convinced it is my phone, not entirely convinced it is not the truck either.‍♂️

I have also been experiencing this issue for a while now. For me, it only happens when a pass by, or am in close proximity to radio/broadcast towers. Additionally, it only happens on CarPlay, but works fine when connected via Bluetooth. Are you guys also only experiencing this when passing by radio/broadcast towers ?
    Thanks,

I have just updated to iOS 18. Going to see if that has any effect on the issue.

mostly stock at the moment, got some toyota projection door lights
I don't use Apples carplay but have seen unstable issues with android auto at times and I think both are software issues not a truck or other vehicle issue. Developers make updates to software and we are the test subjects. Good luck though and I hope it stabilizes for you.
