Jailbroken Android Auto

Was able to get YouTube and Chrome on my factory head unit. Just need to enable developer mode in Android Auto app.

So? Is that head unit stock or Droid/ infused to do this. My radio does not android auto.

 

I got into development mode. Any details other than that in setting that need to be enabled?

Don't know how old that article is but it did not work for me. I've got a Pioneer head unit though. Maybe they caught on and deleted the option.

 

Ok. Use your own judgement before downloading any files from the interwebs... I already did it and don't have any problems YET. Click the link below, scroll down to just below "assets" and that's the actual file. 1.4.4-release.apk.... AAAD is android auto auto downloader. Once installed, allow that program to install apps from unknown sources, and then click on CarStream... It's not a perfect replica of YT, but it will work on your trucks screens. AAAD gives you one download per month for free. I'm interested to see what the "mirroring apps" do... I'll have to wait until end of Jan to get it.

It's only been a few days but any update on how this has been working for you? I thought about trying it a few months ago but the negative reviews on github made me think twice.

 

Honestly, I haven't used it enough to gain an opinion yet.
