    Hi all-
My first post, so please excuse if this has already been asked.

I am looking to replace the bearing in my tensioner pulley on my 2004 Tundra DC 4.7L. Does anyone happen to know of a quality Japanese bearing from Nachi or NSK that would work? I believe it is a model 5203 or 6203??

I took a look at all tensioner pulleys on the market and was unable to find one made in Japan (or anywhere other than China). Decided to just replace the bearing as opposed to the entire pulley.

This is the tensioner pulley, not the idler pulley.

    Thanks.

You could try vxb.com with dimensions to see what they can source.

Is there any reason you don't just want to replace the tensioner assembly, bracket with pulley? They updated the design at one point for better, quieter operation, slightly smaller pulley, but offset such that it bolts right up with the same tension.

    https://autoparts.toyota.com/products/product/tensioner-assy-v-ribbed-belt-166200w101

If you buy now via the national Toyota Parts site, it's 25% off, which puts you right around $75. for OEM It's plug and play vs. having to press in/out or otherwise fight with a bearing, and you get the updated design. Seems like a win-win at minimal cost, and a time saver. (time == money)

If you can wait, it should be $75 shipped, no tax, from THIS DEALER specifically, which quite a fuew of us use (they'll charge tax if you're in AL, though). You'll need to add on a bolt, or an oil filter, or something else to get you over the $75 threshold for free shipping.

Unless I have the wrong pulley, of course.

Here is the hot shot of the day, the VV C3, a 20,000 RPM bearing. This has the highest tolerances available and would "theoretically" be the best bearing on the market available.

    That is the correct part.

Even better pricing, its 25% off from the already discounted $75 — for total of $56.

In that case, you'd definitely need to add another part, else pay shipping

I'm tempted to buy one just for S&G, I'd like to gradually replace all the bearings and shit on the front accessory drive over the next couple of years after seeing how quiet @Weagle's engine got (all ticking sounds gone) when he swapped out his pulleys. It was like f'n magic, his engine is absurdly silent now.

But to that point, if I had a choice between refreshing the bearing for $10-20 with a part that may or may not truly be correct, or replacing the entire assembly for $60 with the updated part Toyota recommends, I'm doing the updated part. Hands down.

This bearing is too big for your skateboard wheels though...

Thanks for the info Shifty. I was unaware of the updated tensioner assembly design. When I went to the site, it stated 2007 - 2009? Am I missing something? Leaning towards doing the bearing because, well, doing the entire assembly looked to be a fair amount more work ;) Also, thanks for confirmation on bearing number.

No clue, this is what it shows for me, 2006 - 2009?! But I clearly looked up the part using a 2004 DC VIN and the same part number came back.
