Do most of the '22 owners with premium sound system enjoy it or not so much? Compared to my Raptor's B&O unleashed, the Tundra sound system is extremely underwhelming and disappointing in a $75K truck. Has anybody retro fitted with upgraded systems yet? I don't want big subs or anything like that, just sound clarity. Should I just look at replacing a few speakers and tweeters?

Stereo systems in Tundras have always sucked, current or previous gens. Marginal at best. They play, but bass, clarity volume and features are not on par with what you would expect based on the tech available when the particular truck was built.

I don’t have the JBL in my limited but, same… little to be desired.. and driving alone on the highway it needs to be well over half to hear it clearly.. good bye voice coils

I have the JBL and it's ok for what it is. It could be better though. It is much better than the joke of the Fender system I had in my Titan Pro4X though. That only has treble and bass adjustments with no mid adjustment.

I have the JBL and I love it, I think it’s better then the B&O in my raptor but no where close to the B&O in my M5. I keep my base slightly over the halfway point and its solid for a factory system.

I don't like it as much as the B&O from my 2020 Raptor, and it's not even in the same league as my 2021 Raptor sound. Is yours a Gen 2 or Gen 3 Raptor?

Had a 2018 Ram limited with the harman kardon system. Much better than the jbl. In-fact the whole information system was better than whats on the 2022 tundra platinum

Once you listen to a Burmester system in a Porsche everything else is ruined. I plan on doing a full conversion in mine using Audison F8.9bit and probably Morel components. Did the same thing in my nissan and love it.

… NO, no they didn’t. It sounds pretty good compared to any other truck and especially our van, but no adjustments really.

TRD Air Filters, Front door windows tinted to match the rears. Wheel locks, Talons Garage cat shield, Tyger Automotive soft tonneau cover, WeatherTech floor mats with Tuff Skinz Custom Emblem kit, Toyota OEM Emblem Black Out kit. AVS vent covers on all four doors, Red Tundra letters on front bumper & TRD highlighted in Red on front grille. Tailgate Tundra Letters in Black.
Coming from a 2017 Tundra with an aftermarket system (10” Pioneer Sub and Amp, Swapped out stock speakers to Alpine & Alpine Components & Alpine Amp)
I like the JBL 12 Speaker system in my 2022 Tundra. It sounds better than previous Tundra stock systems. And my 2017 upgraded system.

I like my jbl system. I think it's too bass heavy and turn mine down but jack up the highs a bit to get it where I like my tunes.
Better than the 2004 ford xlt I was coming from... but what wouldn't be.

Significantly better than the HK system I had in my ‘19 Ram 1500 Limited. Always sounded “muddy”. I would have liked more EQ in the Tundra.

    i've got a JBL.
It isn't anything to write home about (I've owned or was involved in building a fair share of custom sound systems) , but it is enough for me.

I like my system in 1794. But agree it needs to dialed in as it is too bass heavy. Once you play around with the settings it sounds good!

wow better than an aftermarket system?

I can’t say that about when I tested it against my 2016 aftermarket system, it blows away the stock jbl system, which is should.

    that’s surprising to hear

    Yes it does sound better.
The Pioneer sub might hit a tad harder but for me the Upgraded JBL system is surprisingly better than I thought it would be. On the 2017 I did keep the stock head unit.

Seems like a lot of us guys who get a raptor end up going back to Toyota lol. I just picked up a 22 Raptor with the B&O. Thing sounds good, but is really glitchy. Whole truck is basically a lemon. Randomly driving and then stereo goes to full volume of static and popping and wouldn't stop for 10 minutes straight. Has happened to me multiple times. Even with shutting it off, and locking the truck it still goes. Now looking at a 22 or 23 Tundra limited. Owned a 17 and 19 tundra before.

I've been reading about that on FRF, are you over there? My 21 has been pretty much flawless. Fingers crossed. This Tundra is growing on me, but owning first gen of any remodel concerns me so can't decide if I'll hang on to it or not.

Would anybody that likes their system share their sound settings? I'm not an audiophile by any means and am struggling with getting it tuned correctly. Thanks for any help. Also are most of you using Apple music with lossless and and Atmos turned on? Or spotify? The way Spotify compresses their files the volume difference is unbelievable when switching back and forth between the two.

I had ELS audio system in my MDX, what I loved about it was the clarity. One of the best in stock systems that Inhave experienced. It was comparable to my aftermarket systems in my older car ( my set up was Morel supremo tweets, CDM 880, Elate mid woofer and Morel 12" sub, all powered by 2 Braxs and Helix mono and Helix DSP). Again, my HU was quite average ( traded quality for having a touch screen back then).

Coming to JBL, it does take some work to control the bass, but overall its liveable. Whil I dont have any compliments for the system, I dont have any complaints either.

I am not a fan of the JBL system. Sounds like they're sending full frequency bands to all speakers. The small speakers on the dash can't handle the bass and it sounds garbled. I would guess that they are sending high frequencies to the subwoofer too. I am planning on replacing everything after the head unit. Does anyone know the size of the existing speakers in the JBL system so I can look at replacing without taking everything apart quite yet?

The JBL system in the current generation of Tundra is far superior to any automotive audio system on a global level. Given the exceptional quality of the JBL system, my assumption is that it was developed by a partnership of the world's top audio engineers, and NASAs finest gathering of electronics engineers. Any dismissive statements are pure rubbish, and the forum members that post such opinions should be banned for their current lives and beyond....

Compare to my 2014 Limited, the new sound system is awesome. I do keep hearing an audible warning coming from the passenger side saying, "Turn it down." Could be my wife...stay tuned.
