Are there other options than ********* and OEMaudio? I want to replace all of my speakers and add amps.

I want to replace all of my speakers and add a 5 channel amp. I want to keep the stock head unit. I would like everything to be plug and play like the ********* setup but I want to use my own amp and speakers of my choice.

I'd like to know what the ********* setup is? Are you referencing 5 star audio?

Taco Tunes aka Tunes Tacos but reverse the words lol.

Have to look at the wiring diagrams for how everything is connected in a JBL equipped truck. A 5 channel amp alone likely wouldn’t be enough channels to replace all the speakers as the JBL amp is 12 channels and I’m assuming each of those channels is connected to one of the woofers/mids/tweeters and sub.

When I’m not on mobile tomorrow I can post more info.

So in looking at the ultimate wiring diagrams thread here: Ultimate TUNDRA Wiring Diagrams Collection | Toyota Tundra Forum (tundras.com)

I think the "big" picture for how the JBL trucks are wired looks like this, but I could be wrong and this could be for a non JBL as the wiring diagrams for previous years specified JBL:

    upload_2024-8-27_12-56-31.png

In previous generations, the wiring diagrams said "With JBL" but I couldn't find any mention of JBL on the 2022+ diagrams, however looking at the "active noise cancelling" system it looks like there's 12 total speakers so it must be the JBL system unless there's different wiring I missed for JBL. If the diagram above is for JBL, it looks like everything is powered off of the JBL amp, and everything gets it's own channel except the rear doors the tweeter and woofer are wired in parallel and the subwoofer appears to be dual voice coil also wired in parallel. I know the JBL specs say it's a 12 channel amp, so maybe the diagram isn't for JBL as it only accounts for 11 channels, and with rear tweeters and woofers wired in parallel that would then only account for 9 channels. Maybe someone else more knowledgeable about 2022+ can chime in/has the right wiring diagrams. If this is indeed right for JBL, then to reuse factory wiring but replace all the speakers, you'd need speakers you need 9 channels of amplification for speakers, and then whatever amplification for a subwoofer. So like a 4 channel and 6 channel amp for woofers, mids/center and tweeters. You could also do component speakers and not totally reuse the factory wiring and basically use it to carry signal from your new amp(s) to the doors or wherever your crossovers would be, and then wire from the crossover to the woofer and tweeter respectively. In a passive system using passive crossovers this would mean you'd need 1 channel of amp for each door, and one channel for each dash corner and the center, or a total of 7 channels of amp for speakers, plus a sub amp, in other words two 4 channel amps with 1 channel unused and then a dedicated sub amp, or a 4 channel and a 5 channel amp. Different ways to go about it and different costs depending on which route you go etc. You could also leave the factory amp in place to power say the mids in the dash corners and center, and then add an amp to run component speakers front and back, and that would only need a 4 channel amp for the 4 doors plus a sub amp, or a 5 channel amp that has a sub channel built in. Thing is if you replace the dash speakers, the new ones will probably have higher power handling and want more juice.

What's your budget/experience with car audio? All in all it wouldn't be super hard to do any of this, but cost can add up quick if you're talking about replacing all the speakers and subs and adding amps and wiring.

The other question is what ohm rating are the factory speakers. Replacing in kind can sometimes be difficult when trying to find the right replacement type. Those diagrams look interesting but you can't read anything due to image size unfortunately.

I compiled those screenshots into one image to show the big picture. They are taken directly from the wiring diagrams thread I linked where you can find the full res PDF's. The factory speakers are almost certainly a mix of 2 and 4 ohm since it looks like they're all powered off the amp. Since we know the rear tweeters are 4 ohm, I'd wager a guess that the rear door speakers are also 4 ohm, and since they're wired in parallel that would mean a 2 ohm impedance. The front door tweeters are probably the same as the rears, so 4 ohm. The front door woofers might be 2 ohm to get more power out of the amp. The dash center and corner mids are a toss up, could be 2 or 4 ohm. The sub appears to be dual voice coil wired in parallel and each coil is probably 4 ohms, meaning the total impedance would again be 2 ohms. All that said, in my 2021 non-JBL the dash corners are 6 ohms each, wired to one side of the center speaker which is dual 8 ohm voice coil, which gets you like 3.43 ohms being powered off the head unit.

All that said, if you replace the speakers, replacing the amp is all but required unless you leave the factory amp to power some of the factory speakers. The factory amp is probably not powerful enough for most aftermarket speakers, and an aftermarket amp is probably too powerful for the factory speakers.

I removed my JBL sub and added 2 13.5 JL subs and replaced all the component speakers with some top of the line focal speakers and it sounds amazing.

My truck is a 2021 so not exactly the same, but I installed Focal ES165KX2E’s in front and ES165K2’s in the rear, along with a JL Audio 8w7, all powered off a JL RD900/5 from my last system until I upgrade to a Helix V series amp and go full active. Will probably also switch to two 10TW3’s at that time as well powered off a Helix M series fed off the extra V series dsp output channel. The JL RD900/5 is a fantastic 5 channel amp.

It was a small digital focal am they were able to hide under my dash.

I feel that lol! I dropped a ton on mine and as much as I want to keep going and get a Helix V series and new subs, I got bills to pay! Squirreling away money here and there so hopefully after not too long I'll be able to complete my system how I want to.

I had a decent amount stored away, i really wasnt spending anything when i had my previous truck other than the monthly payment, outside of lifes typical bills. I bought the Tundra and immediately added wheels/tires, coilovers, ppf, ceramic tint, nerf bars, tonneau cover, dash cams. I always put the fam first, its always a good feeling when you can do nice things for everyone in the family.
