Sorry, but it's been a long time since I've posted on this forum. So I'll apologize in advanced.

How do you summon Joe Joe the OEM parts guru? I need an abs tone ring. Please help me out! Thanks.

Something about running in circles, screaming, shouting, and jumping naked in a frozen lake. But I may have missed a bit or two.

Ok, I thought that's what it was. I remembered I had summoned him once in the past but it was during winter so this makes much more sense. Hahahah.

Dude is a crook. He has been kicked off the first gen tundra FB group for scamming people. Just order from a reputable dealer like McGeorge Toyota and be reassured you're actually gonna receive your product and have a warranty with it.

Wow, thanks for a heads up. I know I contacted him a while back for a quote. Again haven't been here in a while. Thanks for the heads up. My only issue with mcgeorge is, I've gone to my local dealer and gotten different part numbers than what mcgeorge tells me. So it worries me that the parts are going to fit. Much appreciate the heads up.

I've done business with him. Never had a problem. Never been scammed. Always helpful. Every dealer has their own pricing. I can get stuff cheaper through my dealers online sales than I can get at their counter. Go figure. Shop around. There's always a sale somewhere.

My local dealer came out a few bucks cheaper than mcgeorge after shipping. Last time I tried to order parts the warehouse picked the wrong part. Makes me a little hesitant. I understand we are humans and make mistakes but the parts guy and myself weren't coming to an agreement. Whatever. I'll have to give them a shout tomorrow. Thanks for the help

Found genuine toyota parts on Amazon. Cheapest around and fastest shipping go figure. Parts are ordered. Thanks everyone for the help.

How do you know they aren't counterfeit? Amazon has a huge issue with this. Same with eBay.

Yeah, I'd never order "OEM" parts on scAmazon. Three times already with various "OEM" parts, I've gotten whitebox or fake af parts. The only way to be remotely safe is to choose who is fulfilling the order and hope there's a dealership in the list, and it's not someone simply masquerading as a dealer - scAmazon doesn't vet their vendors that way, so you really have no way to know if the seller is exactly who their name implies.

The one part I ordered. The reviews had a few people mention they came in genuine toyota parts bags. I guess that can still be faked. And the other I suppose I'm going off of the fact it said it was coming from toyota. I've ordered honda oem parts and other oem toyota parts off of Amazon and I don't think I've been scammed yet. Everything again has been labeled and packaged and fit as oem.

Maybe today is going to be a different day for me. I'll try to post pictures of what comes in on Wednesday. Of course the ABS ring is going to be the fake one hahaha, hopefully not.

I use partsouq.com for searching for parts, I find it easier to navigate as they actually show the parts diagrams. They will list all available part #s for a given part but they give the date range which makes it easy to identify what fits your specific vehicle. Then I use the parts number I got from partsouq to order on mcgeorge or toyotapartsdeal.

(EDIT: I stay away from Joe Joe mainly because he's so busy it takes a while to get a quote, sometimes it can be days before he catches back up with his backlog. Also it seems the "scam" that happens is he will order parts and take your money even if it's on a crazy long backorder. Then it's a 20% re-stocking fee if you want to cancel. It doesn't seem to happen often, but I've heard of it happen a few times now. Not sure if it's an actual scam or more of him just being overwhelmed and not being able to communicate the backorder status completely. Either way, I don't want to deal with it. I'll gladly pay a little more for the ease of ordering from a reputable website.)

Unfortunately McGeorge has been bought out by another dealer, Ourisman Toyota, who doesn't offer the same discounts and charges a bit more for shipping.
    https://toyotaparts.ourismantoyotaofrichmond.com/

Camelback and Olathe Toyota are two other domestic dealers that offer decent deals, but Partsouq is always the first place I check.

Hey guys. I realize this thread and topic is a few months or so old, but I'm going to throw my opinion in anyway.
Personally I DO NOT recommend buying anything from that joejoe guy on FB or anywhere else.
A couple of friends of mine were ripped off by the guy.
One lost $270.00 to him, and another really got ripped for $2550.00.
Over the past several months we have researched joejoe, and there are actually over a couple dozen people ,that we really know of that had money stolen from by joejoe.
He also (and this has been proven) a pretty lengthy criminal record. He is a felon. He has anything from theft by deception, to harassment , domestic abuse, elderly abuse, possession of a gun while being a felon, stalking, and terroristic threats.
I have a real copy of his criminal background history.
I think the facebook Toyota groups have.just about all figured joejoe out for what he really is, and most all have deleted and banned him from the Toyota groups.
One guy sent joejoe money for a part for his truck, and joejoe told him his order was placed, and the part would ship out the next day. After a month and no word about his part, the guy contacted Joe Joe. And was quickly brushed off. This went on for nearly 6 months. Then a few of us were talking one day, and we checked with several Toyota dealerships on a hunch, plus Toyota Of America Parts Div, and was informed by them that the part was discontinued and no longer available from Toyota manufacturing, back in 2022.
When he contacted joejoe about the issue, he just kept making excuses.
When he asked Joe Joe to refund his money, joejoe told him he could only refund half of his money, because he had to keep a restocking fee. A restocking fee for a part that has been discontinued from Toyota , by Toyota indefinitely.
So the guy filed a charge back with his bank ,because he never received the part he paid for. He faxed and emailed them all the documents proving the part was discontinued from Toyota, and that joejoe had stolen his money. That's when little Joe Joe started calling and emailing him terrorist threats. As of right now law enforcement are still searching for him. I've heard some say he is in mexico, and others are saying he is still in southern California. He has done a lot of business with Toyota of Santee Cali. They are covering for him somehow.
But anyways, as I mentioned before, I honestly DO NOT recommend buying from joejoe (Joseph hudspeth) as I have talked with quite a few people that were ripped off by him. On PayPal he talks folks into sending him cash via friends and family. So if you don't receive your part(s) you paid him for, or they are wrong, ect, you cannot get your money back through PayPal. Luckily a lot of folks that were ripped off by joejoe used PayPal but paid with credit card, or debit card. Do their bank was able to get most victims their money back.
I just wouldn't do it. His buddies on FB, say they have never had a problem with joejoe. But who really knows. I know for a fact that he stole money from my brother, and several others.
    Just beware of joejoe.

@shifty` this joe joe dude isn't on the forum right?

Its still good to have people post up about not buying from him but its not too beneficial to talk on this forum about someone who isn't even present here. But if enough of the 1st gen crowd uses all the sites, I guess I does help to share honest feedback here where this character and his friends aren't, so you can speak honestly.

I don't know if he is or not, searching for members is not something I've found easy to do. I haven't seen him peddling parts, and I haven't seen him as a registered vendor. You may need to ask @Bob or @T-Rex266 or @ColoradoTJ or one of the other admin/mods to hunt.

I don't know the guy. I've seen people link up and post screencaps of him doing business on Facebook. I'm not sure how he works, I just know he claims to have access to direct OEM parts and people on the FB groups talk him up a great deal. I assume he works for a company w/access to OEM.

    Sorry, dunno more. :(

I was directed towards him when needing a transmission for my '01 4Runner - he did supply an invoice yet it all felt so sketchy - just a fast toss of a doc with little details of where it was coming from - what it actually was - how long to deliver - did it even include delivery- so many things unsaid - so I didn't take the deal. Not sorry.

That's pretty wild. My brother ordered LBJ's from him this spring without any issues. I wonder if he's got a relative or friend working at a dealership and getting parts for him that way or something like that? Plenty of people have obviously ordered from him and had good experiences, so I don't think I'd call him a scammer exactly, and trying to drag him for having a criminal record is a bit retarded and not that related if you ask me. I'm clearly not endorsing terrible and shady business practices of taking money for parts that aren't available anymore and trying to charge a restocking fee, or saying things are available when they're really on backorder for who knows how long. He's far from the only business that does that type of thing is all I'm saying. Very unprofessional behavior however it sounds like. I haven't ordered anything from him myself and likely won't, but like I said my brother had no issues with the small order he placed with him. Sorry your brother had to go through that though, sucks big time.
