Do you think it’s worth it? A K N drop in air filter that rep, aces the oem in the air filter box
I heard it could cause problems cause more small particles get thru but I see a lot of cars and trucks with it.
    What do you think ?

    Alot of them
The K&N is fine if it's not over-oiled. The AFE Dry and the TRD filters are popular as well. I ran a TRD in mine until recently.

I agree with what @Tundra234 said. It's a good product so long as you don't over oil it. They are meant to stop the smaller particles and debris from getting through so you'll want to keep it clean and LIGHTLY oiled often.

Personally though, I'd stay away from oiled filters as the oil could dirty up the MAF sensor. I used to run oiled k&n on my Taco for years and I had issues with my MAF sensor.

If you're in So Cal, I have a brand new unopened AFE dry drop in filter I'd be willing to part with.

One came with my supercharger and went straight into the garbage and a Wix filter in its place. They let too much fine particulates through and will likely damage the engine over time. In a low mile race situation it will increase airflow but I would not recommend in a long term vehicle.

For evidence watch Engineering Explained or Project Farms testing of air filters including KandN.

    Too many, but not enough....
KN is worse filtration, no matter what. Only way you add power with a filter is if it does it's job worse. That said if u want power, go for it.

AFE or Wix...if you want real improvement, look into the SABM (Stock Air Box Mod) and a TRD air accelerator...

Thanks to everyone who replied. Let me tell you what I found out.
I was watching project farm on you tube and he just happened to test a bunch of air filters and one was K N. And a Wix the test confirmed that the Wix was the best at protecting from small particles getting thru and the K N was the worst. It just happened that I ran across that after I posted. The timing was perfect. So. I will get a Wix air filter and leave the K N on the shelf. You did get a very little increase in hp but if you want your 3ngine to last Wix is the way to go.

Honestly tho, check out the SABM... paired with the Wix, you're actually getting more than just sound!

Does WIX sell a washable/reusable filter? I thought you were looking for one to buy that you can wash and reuse like the K&N. WIX is a disposable filter that you discard when dirty.

    Some.
IMHO, K&N oiled filters are garbage. Too much oil and it screws up sensors. Not enough (or even perfectly oiled) and they don't filter worth a crap.

I think you quoted the wrong person. What @HulkSmurf14 was referring to is SABM(Stock Air Box Mod). It's where you drill a hole in the side of your stock airbox and in your fender to allow twice the amount of air intake from your fender. Do a search for it and you'll find several posts about it.

I recently ditched the k&n/TRD oiled drop in filter for OEM paper filter. And honestly can't tell a difference.

What are you expecting to achieve over stock? You can buy plenty of stock filters for the price of a K&N, the stock has been proven to filter properly and how often are you driving around at WOT to think you'll notice any power difference? Wanna test it, go remove your air filter and drive around the block, you won't notice any difference.

I usually drive a steady 95 mph. On the parkway and route 80. Sometimes I hit 102 very seldom do it drive at the posted speed limit of 65. I never actually floored the pedal , how fast is the top end?
