I have an 07 sr5 trd with about 210xxx miles on it. It has treated me phenomenal and have only had to replace the radiator on it. Now I know that sooner or later I'll have to get a new truck but I dyon't know if it should he something I should do sooner or later, this was not only my first truck but my first car asw I'm 22 and if I get a new truck it will be the first one I've ever bought from a dealer. That being said the one I'm looking at is a 2011 Rock warrior red with only 50k on it, it's already got all the lift and tires on it and I love the second gen body style, they are asking 25800 but I would offer like 23500 or 24000 and my truck is worth 11 right now so that would be my down payment, but besides that the main question is do NEED to buy a new truck or will mine really make it as far as people are saying it will, BTW my dad bought the truck new in 07 and has babies the CRAP out of it, example oil is changed and every 3k and all the services have been one 3-5k before there needed. Sorry for the long post I've just asked alot of people and no one seems to have a straight anwser. Thank you I'll post the link to the truck here https://www.diamondmotorworks.com/2011-toyota-tundra-trd-rock-warrior-c-3275.htm

I would keep driving the '07, and avoid monthly payments for as long as possible.

I would keep the 2007 as you know the history and its been well maintained. There is a lot of value in that. Jumping into the 2011 which is pretty much the same truck for a good chunk of change more is a little risky in my opinion. Reading through the carfax it says some of the electrical wiring was replaced and the valve cover gasket, both stand out to me as a little odd for a truck with such low miles.
Keep your 2007 and start saving some money every month to put towards a new truck down the road.

I would keep it. You know where the truck came from and have no payments.

Another thing that's very important I work out of my truck doing PDR so I have to make sure it runs good and does everything properly and I also have to be comfortable and enjoy what I drive because I'm in it everyday all day thank you all for your input

If it were me, I would keep it. $13k-$14 more for the same body style and you don't know the exact condition of it. Could be 50k of hard off road miles. I say maintain your current one like your dad did and spend the money to get the lifts and tires. It will last...there are 2 Tundras now that have hit 1,000,000+ miles.

First of all, not many people NEED a new truck. It's more of a want.

Yes, if your Tundra is taken care of it will last you.

It really depends on your situation. It sounds like your truck is running fine and has been well taken care of. When I was in HS/College , I prayed for the day I'd have a job that would allow me to have a decent reliable car that I wasn't wrenching on EVERY. SINGLE. WEEK. and that I could trust would start and get me to work on time.

If I was younger I'd bank everything I have for a future house and a car depreciation fund so you don't have to finance anything. But, if you have all that and are living comfortably, go for it.
    -or-
Maybe put a little cash into upgrading your current ride to make it 'new to you' again. It's waaaay cheaper than buying a new truck.

It looks like a nice ride in your link. Toyota's are generally pretty good trucks. Call me crazy, but my life experiences have always steered me away from used trucks at a used car dealership.
Whats the KBB value / going rate on an 11' Rock warrior ?

Yes, old guy advice. Payments are for houses and land. You wont have to try very hard to put away what you were going to spend in a monthly payment if you could have made the payment. As I got older I could buy little newer cars each time, this one was a 16 I bought in 17, still not brand new but I have the title. Some people are paying 600+ a month, and when I was 22 I had to think of ways to keep down the crazy insurance cost down because I drove like I was 22, older paid for cars are much less. Full coverage was something I didn't have till my 30's.

That rock warrior looks modified you posted so, maybe it is worth the nearly 26k with the options....to the right buyer

I was looking at other rock warriors...without the additional stuff...depending on the miles...was in the low 20's for certain...rarely under without a ton of miles

personally, id fix yours...put the 300 a month you would be paying on the note in the bank....and tap in to it for repairs as needed, or preventative. Pretty sure you would be ahead after a couple of years

I am in the same situation...do I keep my aging truck....or buck up for a newer (tundra - im coming from a 2000 Silverado) - If I wasn't towing...my current truck would do "OK" - but since I do, adding that to the already aging systems (almost 20 years old) - takes it's toll yanking 6500 - 7000 lbs every weekend in the summer for hundreds of miles at a time up hills in PA, NY, WV - she does it...but could be done "better" - hence why I would want to get the Tundra...last year was a new transmission, this year was new brake lines (north east winters)....almost at the point where most things have already been replaced. for a $2,000 truck several years ago - I think I am still ahead of the game...but would like to have a better towing capacity. more comfort would be nice - lol

In your case...it is the same truck - just with different goodies on it...and newer. IMHO - keep yours....if you want a new truck and can do it - then go for it.

    KISS method says:

Keep existing truck as its basically the same truck you want to buy for $13k more.

Reinvest half that $13k back into your existing truck to achieve the lifts/shocks/etc you want out of the new(er) truck.

Sounds like pops has the right idea on maintenance so stick with a known truck.

Keep yours unless you want things on the RW you can't add yourself, like different cab size or 2wd to 4wd

I am probably wrong but I though the "Rock Warrior" edition was only available in Black or White?

In my opinion, keep the truck you know the history of. Unless you are sick of it and need a change, just modify it to your liking.

I'd say keep it. I looked at new tundras too but it's the same truck for me, I'd get the exact same truck. Like stated before unless you're looking for 4wd or some other options not already on your truck I'd keep it.
I'm at 197k and my truck has not been babied at all, oil changes every 5 to 7k sometimes 10k if I don't get to it. I've beat the shit out of my truck and she just keeps on ticking I wouldn't hesitate to put another 200k on it before I part ways with it.

I'm 19 and got my 2011 rock warrior this past november for 19,500 with 128k on it. It's the first road worthy vehicle I've owned and I won't be trading it in for a long time. honestly this is a pretty good deal but its missing the only thing that truly makes it a rock warrior. as someone younger than you who's making payments on basically the same truck, save your money and put it into what you already have. you can do all those mods to your current rig for way less and then when its finally time for a new one just swap all the mods over.

I’d find a way to keep your truck. Do small stuff like wheels/tires and enjoy it.

When your truck dies you can get a new one and you will be satisfied when you do.

I was in the same boat with my 2010, I finally decided to just enjoy what I got and not worry about what I think I’m missing

I have 23 payments left on my 08 and I plain to let my 4 yr old drive it to prom in high school lol wife thinks I'm crazy but it should last that long. I say keep your truck dont take on another payment unless you absolutely have to do so. I know when mine is paid off I'm just going to save and save some more for stuff I want to do to my 08. Eventually maybe putdifferent wheels on it and stuff but keep it about like it is now because it still fits in the garage.

    I'll play the other side.

Given your current age, if you're on a vocation, career or professional track where you're confident you'll be making more, hopefully much more, as you get older then got for it. You only live once. At 22, I would have loved to be rolling in a Rock Warrior. As I make more I would pay more to pay off the debt.

I will say that having a nice truck that was handed down from my pops would be pretty special for me. I would do as others have said and put some money into it.
