Finally pulled the trigger to ugrade from the archaic factory head unit to a Kenwood! Others have mentioned bypassing the parking break. This unit has a newer harness that has the parking break wire included as part of the harness rather than a fixed wire off the back of the HU. I have read that you can splice this wire to the black ground on the barness to bypass, but have also seen little chip pigtails on ebay and Amazon. If anyone has done this and can share how you accomplished it I would greatly appreciate it.

This is exactly what I did on my Kenwood DMX906S.
    No problems since.
Five Star Car Stereo makes some very helpful videos..

I used a bypass (wired chip) with my Pioneer and it would pop up with a parking brake error every 30 starts or so..

Any of your car stereo shops can tell you how to do it. I think my Pioneer in my 13 is connected to the ground but I don't remember. We have a local shop (Five Star Car Stereo in Clearwater Fl) that has a youtube channel with all kinds of different videos on how to do things with the new systems. Google Five Star Car Stereo youtube to get to their channel.

I've had 5 HUs in my 2014 Tundra.
Stock Entune, 2 Kenwoods, and 2 Pioneers, long story.
In my OCD research of HUs, I found several helpful Five Star videos.
If you ever stop in the shop, tell them 1lowlife from Dallas, Texas said "Thank you for the videos".

You did right buying the Kenwood over the Pioneer.

Couple more of their helpful Kenwood videos.

Even if you are familiar with car audio, this video is still very helpful for Kenwood HUs..
