Key Replacement Question

Recently bought my 2020 Tundra but only came with one key. It's the kind with the fob built into the key all one piece. Do I have to bring the truck into the dealer or can I just call and give them the VIN? Any idea on cost?

 

If your text savvy You can order these keys from Amazon. https://a.co/d/3P5BGlC. Along with a copy of TechStream and you can program them yourself and then just get them cut. That's what I did. There are also other options out there where the company will send you the programmer and sell you the key and then you send it back.

 

You can also just buy a spare and have the dealership program and cut it. This turned out to be the easiest and cheapest way for me.

Just FYI, called Pop-A-Lock, guy came to my office, had the key, cut it and programmed it for $125.
