I am still waiting for my truck. But I want to make a kill switch.
Just want to know the starter relay or fuel pump relay. Need to confirm the shape of the relay and the Amp reading.
If anyone can post the relay photo , that will be great.
    Thank you so much.:)
I got the photo online, not sure , the 30A is fuse or relay.

Forgive my ignorance. What exactly is meant by kill switch? Something that can stop the truck remotely?

A switch that you hide inside your vehicle that essentially cuts power to something necessary to start the car (fuel pump, ignition, etc). This way, if someone else tries to start your car, it’s impossible unless they find the switch and flip it. You’d have to hit the switch every time you leave the car and hit it again when you want to start it.

It’s a 30amp fuse, no markings on the sides. Post what you come up with!

Thank you for your pic. I found the way to do that already. I have 3 ways to do that now. I wont do the fuse, I will remove the relay terminal out , then join with the kill switch . Another way is to make new remote control for the engine. I will do that, but I am still waiting for my truck. After I do that , I will post some pics and video for your guys.

By the way, I dont recommond your guys to do anything for that, because you touch the wires, it will effect your warranty. That is why I will take the relay terminal out or another way, after I do that, I will show that.

How can they steal the truck ? Are they using a signal amplifier or repeater?

Can't you just add a car alarm? Without alarm being disarmed (separate remote or via alarm app) nobody is going to steal your truck. (but it wont be as exciting as a kill switch, I agree)

yes, I will put the alarm too. But the alarm can not stop the people to steal that. The way I will do : 1 install the kill switch(no one can start the truck, untill the switch is on), 2, the alarm will in, just try to scary the guy. if I heard anything, I will call police. (it will be remote control too, becasue the rain or snow will active the alarm).3 I will put another remote on it, it will be remote control or manual, if someone take my toyota key, they still can drive the truck, but they dont have my own controller. The truck will stop after 500-600 ft. Because too much guys have gun now, it is very bad. If something happen, just give them the toyota key, keep my own controller.
Dont worry, I will post it. But I am still waiting for my truck.

Ken do you live in the US? The idea of everyone having a gun on them is foreign to me. Either we are from different areas or I am naive to how bad guns have gotten in Canada.

I am in Toronto. It is very bad now. It wasnt like that before. A lot of pickup truck were stolen in the driveway. And it happend 2-3 weeks ago,3 guys hold the gun to rob the BMW in the supermaket at 5PM. What the fuck, I heard gun fire every day. It is horrible, I can not deal with any gun. That is why I give the key the guy, keep my remote, after he drives 500ft, the vehicle will stop. he will not what is going on. And also I have enough time to hide. That is what I am thinking now.

Don’t alarm systems have ignition kill switches built into them as a feature? Reinventing the wheel here it seems. If someone wants to steal my truck, they can have it. I have insurance for that kinda crap. I like my truck, but I’m
Not emotionally attached to it. I’ll get another one.

if you need to wait 12-16 months for a new truck, you wont say that. My neighbor works in Honda head office, he lost his CRV in his drive way, he went to dealer, the dealer said, no vehicle, you need to wait couple months........... I know we have insurance to cover that, but no one want to wait again.

I mean . . . I get your point. Although, for those who've poured their *time* and money into mods and care, having your truck stolen is like having hundreds of hours of dedicated trok time go down the drain. If I can prevent it from being stolen, I'd prefer that

I suppose it's a different case if your truck is bone stock

that is one way to do that , but I live in Canada, I need to remote start in winter time, that is why I have to make anothe remote control to by pass the kill switch. Also if you do sth like that, if the toyota find that, your vehicle will lost warrrant.
I will show you how to do that, after I get my tundra. I will remove it from relay, because I dont want to hurt the harness, when sth happen , if I need to send it back to dealer, I can easy to rehook up the wire.

The car lots are not vacant here. I could have another vehicle today. My life is not worth my truck. My truck is not worth having anxiety over. But I agree, something simple to deter theft is certainly worth the effort. Don’t car alarms have ignition kill switches built into them? Don’t modern vehicles have the ability to be remotely disabled? Not sure what’s trying to be accomplished here.

the way to steal the vehicle,is to hack in the vehicle, they catch the signal from the ECM, because the wireless signal from the ECM to the key, it is in the air, if you can get the VIN(you will see that), when the signal had be catched , their computer can make a key signal, just like the vehicle ECM get a key signal from their computer. No one can avoild that, if you use touch push start. It is very hard to explain the way I want to do. just want to say, after I finsih, I will post that.

Good luck with this OP. Almost every commercially available alarm system has a relay setup to disable either the fuel pump or the starter / ignition. Won’t matter if they have the key, a magic RF code, or a letter from Mike Sweers himself. Also, many of them now also feature remote vehicle disable. Like Onstar. Worth looking into before you hack into your new truck.

Simple video explaining how they get the FOB signal and then steal the car... So you could also turn of the broadcast signal of FOB by holding the LOCK button, then press UNLOCK button twice, release the LOCK button, to undo this, just hit any button on the FOB.

Damn that is crazy man. Didn't realize it was that bad. I live just a few hours southwest of you. I wish for you to never have to go through something like that. Good luck with the kill switch and stay safe!

Another option you could look into is Ravelco. https://www.ravelco.com/.

They are pretty pricey and I’m not sure if anyone has installed one on a ‘22 but it looks like an interesting solution.

My Tundra keys are in a faraday bag. That helps at home but not when I go to the store or somewhere else I have to leave it parked

I put the remote in sleep mode after locking my truck, whether it’s in the garage or in a parking lot. There is no signal to boost if it’s off. This takes care of one of the possible ways my truck can be taken. It does not guarantee against other forms of theft…that’s where the kill switches and/or other electronic forms of disablement come in. I’m not a gun advocate, but certainly a well placed firearm is an option for those who work or reside in hostile territories. This $#@/ is getting crazy.
