    Hey guys,

Need some input here. I’ve had my kings installed for +-5000 miles and feel that the 600 lb spring isn’t enough to achieve the lift I’m looking for out of the front. I’ll post a photo of the compression on the springs but I think it’s too much. What is yalls input?

Ride just feels stiff/harsh. Let me have the good/bad/ugly about what I’m trying to do here.

Swap out the King coils for some quality coils like Eibach.

I gotta say, I was very happy with 600lb coils on my old ADS setup! Achieved the lift I wanted without excessive preload.

Kings are funny, once you go past a certain spot they ride shitty, sweet spot is how they came out of the box which how mine are for a leveled stance. Got over 30k miles no problems rides plush on the street and soft mobbing the desert. 600lbs springs are softer and give more flex, I’m not sure why yours ride stiff since you have aftermarket UCA’s as well. Lower the coilovers and see how it feels after.

If you go up to 700lbs springs you will have less preload, but probably as stiff.

I know the ADS come with them so that was my exact thought. Do you know the specs for those springs that I could get direct through Eibach?

I’ve got them set when cool at 34 but after it heats up they’re up to 39. I know i could stay more in too if this to assist in the ride quality.

I was just curious/wondering if the preload amount that they’re currently set at is “too much” or is that still acceptable.

Do you notice any ride quality being sacrificed?

I’m in the process of deciding on the rear end set up (MCM Bypass/Deavers or King 3.0’s). If I go with the ADS rears I’ll most likely end up swapping the front to ADS 3.0’s

Sorry I don't off-hand, my setup has switched to 3.0s and I no longer have the old setup to look at.

No worries - I’m strongly considering the switch to 3.0 ADS up front.

I’ve got the seat bar deleted. Last I counted I’m at 13 driver and like 9-10 passenger.

Sorry...temporary derail...I'm considering removing my OEM sway bar... have OME coilovers with winch/bumper. I see here that several have removed it. I go off road a lot here in CO on crappy old mining roads. What can I expect? Sorry OP.....

I ran with sway bar for about 4 months and then took it off. I daily drive my truck and I'm okay with them off, but you can tell they have been removed.

Dude I would say you have those cranked down too much also. I had 700# coils on my kings 2.5 with resi's, on my tacoma cranked all the way up^ and they gave me a solid 2.5 inch lift. Then i put an ARB bumper and winch on the front and they settled to a solid 2. I would without a doubt go with a minimum 650# coil and set it at zero to about a half at the most. that should still give you a nice ride and give you lift. jmo.

yup. I did the same thing with my kings at first and they rode hooooorrrrible. I was ready to send them back when a toyota tech explained to me what an idiot I am. The light bulb went off and I fixed it, But yeah I had my Kings cranked down a ton and was like WTF...
Also, have heard nothing but great things about ADS!

    @Grey Wolf
just don't take any corners too quick. the only time I think it would be useful to have the front sway bar is emergency swerving on the freeway like trying to avoid something. I think you might flip the truck if no sway bar.

You can expect better articulation and not as much side to side jarring when you're going over uneven surfaces and large bumps. At speed you'll notice a little bit more body roll. I can still take freeway off-ramps that do nearly a full circle ~30-35mph without any hesitation. As long as you're paying attention on roads you shouldnt really be paranoid about flipping the truck.

VLED brake/tail light bulbs. VLED third brake light and cargo lights.
Since two years have passed since you posted this, I assume you learned that 2.5” springs don’t fit on a 2.5” shock. You need 3” springs. Too much lift will cause a terrible ride quality. you ideally want the shock sitting mid stroke for the best ride. This gives you equal travel in both directions. Do you have the extended travel Kings? I hope since you have the nice UCAs. You can convert your shock if you didn’t order the extended travel option.
