Hello everyone! I have a 2024 Tundra with the factory 3” Suspension Lift Kit (3inch front, 2inch rear). I really enjoy the ride height of the vehicle now however it rides like crap on and off-road. I’m looking to purchase king OEM shocks, however am confused on spring rates. I’ve tried to see what is on it now, however haven’t had any luck. I’m planning on purchasing the shocks through accutune and having them tune before delivery. My question is will I need to adjust the shock collar down to almost max with the 650lb spring + tune in order to receive the desired 3 inches of lift up front? Or should I get a stiffer spring (700lb) to not have to adjust the collar as much. The goal is to get as much comfort and travel as I possibly can with the ride height I have. A picture of my truck will follow for reference, thank you!

@AccuTune Offroad is here and can assist. They’ll recommend and set the suspension correctly per the needs of the truck.

My guess is you could have them install a slightly taller 650 lb spring so that you dont have to run as much preload on the collar.

Put a few thousand miles on it.
    Should settle down a bit.
What pressure are you running your larger E rated tires?

Running them at 45PSI at the moment. Also have 3k miles on the truck, rides a bit better than when I took delivery but still really stiff.

I just passed 10k miles and either I don’t notice how tight it is anymore, or it is less noticeable.
Likely I’m just used to it now.
My Tire pressure is around 42 now with cooler weather.

Thank you! Tires are Toyo Open Country R/T Trail 35x12.5x17 0mm Offset. Wheels are Method 314 in Black. These tires are the best I’ve ever had (coming from BFG and Falkens). Very quiet on road and very aggressive in slippery/wet conditions. Never have I lost traction once. Only thing I’d change is maybe a slightly more positive offset, however that’s just preference looks wise. My truck came with a Factory 3” Lift, all I had to do was remove the front mud-flaps and pin back the carpet with a zip tie. Full turning radius with no rubbing. More pictures to follow.

I think that is the perfect and easiest setup from the factory. Well done.

Getting a less aggressive tire will help tremendously with ride quality. I don't how badly you need the type of tire you have, but an A/T tire will help you more than different struts IMHO.

Does the King OEM set require you to change the upper control arms and to extended CV axles? I have a Limited non-TRD but considering the Kings for my next upgrade.

You're just changing shocks, no need for new axles. Upgraded UCA's are highly recommended.

Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure as the Fox set up says to change CV's etc., and I really don't want to change that much on my truck

I guess 3" lift from the FOX puts the CV's on a rather uncomfortable angle on non-TRD Off-Road/PRO trucks... seems rather arbitrary on Toyota's part... I'd be concerned about angle more than length.

Love the stance and look forward to hearing how the King’s affect the ride. If you do it.

It’s not mandatory to change out C.V. axles if you’re not long travel or going above 2.5 inches of lift. I’ve seen people run 2.5 inches of lift and their C.V. boots are not torn or leaking. I’d recommend going with the kit, but only run a max of 2 inches of lift via adjusting the preload on the shock collar. I’d also install an aftermarket UCA while you’re at it too (Total Chaos and Camburg seem to be the best imo).

all the models except the Offroads and pros have a more angle limited axle design.(not a double CV axle. instead a tripod inner joint) that seems to be the only reason why toyota includes different axles for the TRD 3" lift (they might be a hair longer too. but i never checked that)

Thanks for the info, just want to make sure I do things right the first time and not mess anything up.

We have similar rigs, running RT 35's, white CM...also tow my side by side with it.

Spring likely should not change for stock weight, although sometimes we drop in spring rate. These coilovers are adjustable and are intended to be adjusted to get the desired lift height. No need to stress it, our sales team can confirm all of that for you and make some recommendations. We just recently removed the Kings to start working on the Fox 2.5 shocks, so we have a pretty good tune ready for the Kings. Let us know when we can help!
