I just installed Kings 2.5’s all around with the standard 600lb springs up front. I dropped an inch in lift up front with the new setup. I just ordered the 700lb springs to assist with the drop in height. Does anyone know much more lift will the 700lb give or in other words how much less of a sag will I experience after swapping springs? Thanks in advance.

    Current Setup:
    Kings 2.5’s w/ 600lb springs
    TC uppers
    Deaver U748 leaf’s w/ 3/4” shackles

Did you adjust the king's with the 600s? You lost that much lift with them adjusted to max height?

I don't know the answer to your question, but you should get a 16% increase in height with no preload

Driver set at 12 threads and passenger set at 10 threads. I have a C4 front bumper too which plays a factor.

It's going to be impossible for someone to answer your question accurately. Every truck is different and will need to be adjusted accordingly. I'm going to assume you got the extended travel coilovers and want the max height. Based on up/down travel our max recommended shock length at ride height would be around 23.66". See this diagram for measurements:

Thank you. I completely agree that it’s impossible for a solid answer. I was hoping someone would be able to chime in with their experience so I can use theirs as reference.

You are correct. I do have the extended travel shocks and I’m looking to achieve max height from the coilovers. I installed Deaver U748’s with MCM shackles (3/4”) and achieved nearly 3 inches of rear lift. That’s even with approximately 350lbs of static weight back there. I’m looking at what I can do to bring up that front end up a bit. I also have a pretty good driver side lean too. I know I can fix that with dropping the pre-load on my passenger side.

Total shock length sits at 23” currently.

These are my measurements from center of hub to fender.

    RF - 23.5
    LF - 24.25
    RR - 27.25
    LR - 26.25

Thanks for the feedback @AccuTune Offroad

Not the same situation but similar. I'm running 700lb OME springs up front. After addition of my Coastal Offroad bumper (very similar to C4) I did not notice any appreciable difference in ride height up front.

There are 800lb springs available. I would consider those if the 700lb don't work out.

Happy to help. See this all the time though... too much lift in the rear and not able to get the front up to where you want it without maxing out the shock at ride height. We do not reference hub to fender etc... doesn't mean much to us. We are after the specific lengths of the shocks strictly for performance reasons. If you are at 23", looks like you can still go up at least .66" at the shock, which should gain you around 1.25" - 1.5" or so of lift. Also very common to offset the front coilovers to compensate for the lean.

Same thing happened to me...pulled 6112s off that were set at 2.5" and lost lift with the King 2.5 RR EXTs at max recommended length lol...frustrating but whatever I guess.

I pulled Fox Pro suspension with the Westcott lift which gave me 3 inches. I lost nearly 1.5 inches up front after the Kings. Partially due to the Kings and Deavers out back pushing my front end lower. I’m hoping the 700lb spring and some other mods will get front end up a bit. I still want a rake, but not this much. Lol

Does adding the 700lb spring extend the shock length or will I still be at 23” after install? Thanks

I have a C4 overland, winch, lights, as well as a dual compressor under the hood so it might be similar to your set up. With 700# springs with 14 and 12 threads showing on the driver and passenger, respectively, I’m sitting at 24” hub to fender. When I first had them installed, I was sitting at 25” so it seems they’ve settled a bit. I’ll adjust them to bring it back up to 3”, but I hope this helps.

700lb should ride higher if all else remains equal (collar position, weight), how much higher is hard to say

Thank you for the information. I have the same setup with the exception of a winch and mounted compressor. If I bump up my driver side pre-load to 14 threads and keep my passenger at 10, and add the 700lb springs, will I get back up to 25” or perhaps even more since I don’t have winch and compressor?

    Current hub to fender
    LF - 23.5 (12 threads) + .5” at 14 threads = 24”

    RF - 24.25 (10 threads)

If everything remains the same, would it be safe to say it won’t be no more than an inch?

Yeah, if I have more weight in the front than you, you’ll definitely be higher or need less preload to achieve the 3” lift. But like accutune said above, each truck is different. I’ll bet you’ll be fine though.

This really is above my paygrade, but math don't lie... however I'm not great at math and all my **** are guesstimates.

If for example your truck has about 60% (using king's specs for the ext-travel shocks) left of suspension travel left when sitting on the ground (level ground that is) then that means springs are compressed ~3.4" on your current preload, it would take another 300 lbs per spring to compress a 700 to that same number, literally a third 600 spring compressing a single inch, so maybe, just maybe, swapping springs may sit 1" higher... could be 1/2", however, we're not even considering the angle the shocks are mounted in, this is literally a 1:1 suspension to shock travel example. Reason why I can't give you a number, it's by far more practical to measure ride height rather then come up with a math formula.

Spring rates are funny that way.

The spring does not change the shock at all. Check out this animation below demonstrating what would happen to the SHOCK if there was too much preload on the coilover.

Thank you so much. Since the spring won’t extend the shock length and I’m sitting at 23”, I still have more room to adjust the pre-load before it maxes out at 23.6”. Correct?

Anyone have a link for the 700 lb springs you'd use on the coilover set highlighted below?
