After doing a bunch of research, I think I will be grabbing some KYB shocks to try and help with the ride of my Tundra. I have heard a lot great things about their shocks.

However, I am unsure of which one to buy - I have heard plenty of good things about the Gas-A-Just model, but have also hear that they do translate to a little stiffer ride, compared to the Excel-G. Excel-G are basically a stock replacement shock, so logically, I would go with that for the best ride quality.

However, my one hesitation is that I have larger tires on my truck. I am not concerned about fitment or rubbing - I have a good offset + I have already done some trimming to prevent any rubbing. My worry is the weight of the tires.

Do I need to go with the Gas-A-Just because I have bigger tires? Like would the Excel-G not be able to handle the heavier tires?

I am just looking for the most comfortable ride, so I don't want to go with the Gas-A-Just if it will be a stiffer ride. But I also don't want the shocks to be so wallowy because they can't handle the weight.

Anybody have experience with either of these shocks or know which is best?

Any help is great! Again, just looking for the most comfortable ride possible. I don't really care about performance or off-roading, etc...

    Welcome to the club!

I also have the same question about KYB for the front Struts. Rock Auto has them already assembled.

I would like to see input as well

This year I replaced both front struts with KYB “strut-plus” complete assembled units on my 07 Tundra and 08 Sequoia.

I have no complaints and they were easy to install considering they were pre assembled drop in units

On my Tundra they replaced yellow Bilstein 4600 series struts and they feel a little less harsh but still firm
