Just in case, switch back to your factory or OEM light bulbs and make sure there are no issues.
After that, I would say cut your losses and do NOT modify or cut any other wires! Find a non-interference light bulb.

It's on my to-do list to change the factory fog light bulbs to something brighter when I'm off-road so I can see the sides, ditches and potholes better ... I don't need them for highway or regular driving since they can scatter the light and bother other drivers. I also don't want to change the entire fog light assembly. Just the light bulbs will do for what I need.

please report back if you find a good and inexpensive light bulb with good reviews. I ain't paying $160 for a light bulb! under $30 or so with at least 3-5 years warranty should do.
I think the LED market is another scam market. Pay $200 and 2 years later they are not working and you pay another $180 ... Happened to a friend of mine. What happened to LEDs last a million hours? lol

TracRac bed rack, Retrax bedcover, Anytime forward facing camera, Rago dash mounting plate, changed all lights to LED with 1200lumen reverse light, added LED above tag reverse light, rear bumper step, Go Rhino step sides, CCM Cat Security Shield, tool mounts on bed rails, added tie down pad eye on bed rails.
The LED do last a long time. It’s the driver for those leds that usually goes out. They fail to mention this in the advertising. I’ve noticed this with household LED bulbs. They will start strobing or blinking.

So the one LED headlight system I looked at had resistor packs, so the computer reads a "normal" bulb draw...Is that what is happening here with the computer and the LED fog lights ? Just wondering..

I haven't followed up with all the issues related to LEDs but I know you could have "resistor" issues with at least the turn signals and for example the electronic circuit or the driver that @Rangergillikin was talking about can cause interference with other electronics.
Another example is some LED dome lights interfering with the key fob ...

I have VLEDS interior footwell lights in front and back and haven't had any issues but they are off when I'm driving.
as far as other lights, my '16 factory headlights and DRL are super bright! especially the headlights so I don't see the need to change to LED.
Don't mind a little brighter interior dome light but after reading about issues with the installation and interference , I decided to wait.
I think the dome light is kind of finicky and you can easily break or dislodge something in there.

I also like to change the backup or reverse lights to LED if I don't buy a camper shell so it's been on the waitlist. Other than the dome light and backup lights, my 2016 factory lights are pretty bright.

Search the site. Lots of LED threads and what to avoid.

I replaced ever build on and in my truck with LEDs from headlight revolution. I put the high out put reverse and the little back up light bar on my license plate. Really made a difference when backing up. The only problem I had with interference with my key fob was the cargo light. It’s right next to the key fob antenna I believe. I just have to leave that one off. Everything else works fine. The rear turn lights came with resisters. My only regret is that I wish I would have got Meso dome lights instead. I like those.

After reading your post, maybe it was the cargo light/key fob interference and not the dome light interference that I was talking about or maybe both.

Also I meant to say cargo lights since the camper shell will be blocking it ... but they are lame. I mean not too bad if it's really dark out but we are now used to bright LED lights and factory cargo lights are not bright.

I need to do something about the reverse lights. change them to LED and also adding the license plate kit is not a bad idea.

I was thinking about auxiliary reverse lights in the bumper but was worried about interference with the reverse and parking/proximity sensors already in there. I also don't want to cut a hole in the bumper for LED lights that will be out in 2-3 years! I still have very bright Hella fog lights that are over 20 years old and still working!
I cut a hole for something reliable like that any day. :D

    I put the
7440: GTR LIGHTING ULTRA SERIES LED REVERSE BULBS
In mine and they made a pretty big difference. They are supposed to be 1200 lumin. The license plate light bar works good too but the reverse bulbs made the biggest difference. I really like them. Hopefully they will last awhile because they are not cheap. I’d like to mount some light in my rear bumper but the way the bumper is made it would be a PITA unless you mounted them close together near the middle of bumper. I’m going to just add some back up light to my rack and control them with my switch pro for when I want to light up a big area.
