Hello everyone, I’m still a noob and have a noob question. I have a 2017 tundra and I am upgrading my suspension with ICON 2.5 they are adjustable up to 3” I also got the rear and a set of LEAF SPRINGS. My question is, when I replace the new leaf springs there is a thick shorter one On the bottom about 18” long? Do I keep that in there? Or just toss it and install the new leaf springs? I think the shorter one is for support for towing ext... all help appreciated

Hey Cody, I’ll take a look at mine in the morning and let you know what they did to mine at the shop. I have the same expansion pack. Beware that these things squeak when the ubolt and leaf rub. Almost everyone who has them greases them up. I did learn something new last month that I should share with everyone who has them. The off road shop discovered that the Ubolts are too tight on the leafs when torqued correctly, hence the squeak. They brought this to icons attention, but apparently they haven’t done anything about it. The shops solution was to add washers to stretch the ubolts out so they’re not so tight on the leafs when torqued to spec. I haven’t had a squeak since.

I’d love to see a picture of the ubolts with washer if you get a chance.
Do you have one on each side?

i believe those leaf springs are added to your existing. They are not replacements.

Ok that makes sense, I originally had a 3-1 ready lift in there and I loved the look. I bought this package and was just lost about the leaf springs. So you really don’t get much performance out of these leafs compared to stock?

I have the same add a leaf on mine and combined with the new shocks I noticed a huge difference. Basically, the two supplied leafs will replace 2 from the original pack.

Here’s a pic with the expansion pack. They removed the top two and added the pack.

Here’s a pic with the washers they added to prevent the squeak. You can see they added one on each side of the inside.

Much appreciated! I have the full RXT replacement leaf springs. Started squeaking a bit after a little mud from the trails.
Hopefully this will help and stop the squeaking. Lol

Reviving the thread. Sway bar isn’t it. U bolts are torqued to spec and haven’t changed since install and 500 mile check. The small U clamps aren’t the problem. Replicating under the truck it is for sure the entire leaf pack. I just shot chain lube in the cracks so I’ll see if that works in. I did do about 40 miles on forest roads which were dusty and then washed it a day later and the squeaking started a day after that. But I’ve done the same thing on my stock leafs for 20k miles and they never squeaked so ? Also pictures of my one leaf which looks like the one listed here. It looks weird but I guess it’s normal ? I installed them as they came stock. RXT Springs.

long story short the springs are on 1,500 miles and no noise until today. 2 days after dusty roads and a wash. Is this the battle we’ll have with the Icons?
