    Hey everyone :dancingbacon:

I was wondering if anybody had experience with leather seat covers
or know somewhere I can buy them for cheaper?

Might be investing in some for the front and back of my Tundra.

Cheaper than what, Katzkins or Alea? You get what you pay for...

I considered Clazzio before going with Katzkins. They slip on, look nice and seem to get good reviews. I saw them in the $350-$400 range, not what I call cheap but as Sas mentioned, you get what you pay for.

I went with Katzkins because I was doing the install myself so it wasn't that much more to have a factory leather look. I see basic black Katzkins on Ebay for $550. If you are not in a hurry, Ebay has discount codes around holidays and season changes. I got $100 off mine with the code. After that, you need some hog rings and a bit of patience.

I can tell you Katzkins are totally worth it, OEM like, just installed the back and waiting for heaters for the front. Install is basically removing the upholstery in reverse, the hardest part and takes a few hours I won't lie. Much more involved than putting on a cover because you have to take out the seats and strip it.

If you decide Katzkins, wait for 15% ebay coupon and order from seller "Touchups".

Here's mine and it's SO comfortable:

I agree katzkin is the way to go- but it should fit much tighter than yours. That looks like a cover- not factory.

Laid mine on the tailgate in the sun while I took the old ones off. They were pliable once I got ready to slap them on.

I appreciate your reference pic. 2 days warm sun, watched some upholstery vids, decided to take out the seats just now, unclipped, used a steamer, hand moulded the foam while pulling at strategic angles, re-clipped, added some ties... all like the pros. I'm pretty confident when I do the fronts now as I'll be adding those steps during, not after, plus heating the leather up first of course.

The steamer works wonders. I used one the second time around and what a difference

Awesome man! I wanted to make sure you were getting the full effect with the Katzkin! I wasn't brave enough to do it myself and had it installed. I was set on Clazzio then saw that for the same price (for the product) I could get Katzkin and just had to pay to have installed. Leather was the best thing I did to the truck IMO.

Looking at the ebay listings it looks like the original seat covers have to be removed to install the Katzskins. How tough is that?

The Katzkin basic instructions are to go in reverse of removal which isn’t the whole story. Your pic set off a light bulb a couple of days later. The sun would help but only take it so far, it never dawned on me that there’s art and finesse to the job. Off to google I went watching car and furniture installs. Simply leave no wrinkles, flatten every section tight around to the back by industry standard techniques (foam massaging, steaming etc); an important last step that separates a pro-like install vs just fitting them on. Thanks again!

Probably why I put off buying them. My nearest experienced installer is in another city and wasn’t cheap. Faced with a task, I usually factor would it be easier going to work paying somebody else and if I can tackle the skill or not. And when it comes to a Tundra mod, something I love to do.

I also got some from Leatherseats.com, installed them myself back 2015 and no issues to date. Ran me about $1400 w/heated seats. They were the only one that would ship to me directly and not a dealer, I hate that stuff, I like doing things myself and understand the risks of doing so. You can contact them and they you can customize them however you want. The wrinkles on the left were gone after a month or so the Desert heat helped them adjust to the seat.
