2023 Platinum , the seat is not comfortable. There is pressure on both sides from a lack of cushioning material where the seat vents are .

I purchased 2 different types of cushioning material but its a pain .

Lived with it until I sat in a 2024 trd pro - Way more comfortable! No issues at all with the seat !

    Today I sat in a 1794 2024 and same uncomfortable cushioning .

If you may recall, we spoke about this about a year ago... You said that the seat cushion did make it better for you... I tried it but just couldn't use it as it wasn't comfortable and looked ugly

I totally agree. My driver seat has a hard spot in the middle, with minimum cushion. But in general I find comfortable spot... Just annoys me whenever I feel it.

I tried to feel 2023 platinum seat and it seemed a little bit softer. So that tells me that not all seats are consistent and mine may not have been assembled properly, or a part of the cusion was missed during assembly.

I thought that I don't like the platinum or 1794 leather seats, and tried to test drive a limited. While non leather seat was more softer, the problem was that it's lacking adjustable lumbar support so my back start hurting, and it's lacking the extendable thigh support so I wouldn't want to downgrade to this limited/Trd pro seat.

Now, after 1.5 years, I kind of got used to my hard seat. Once I get comfy on it, it's not bad, not it's definitely defective as it has this hard spot in the middle across the seat.

It may be worth trying to get dealer to maybe replace the seat or fix padding on it somehow. Right after my differential will be replaced next week... And if they will eventually figure out the wind noise after servicing window seal 3 times already

The 2024 trd pro I was in was so comfortable compared to mine - yet the 2024 1794 was like my 2023 Platinum . Strange .

I also sat in a 2024 tacoma and that was very comfortable.

Yes, from first glance, the non leather seat feels comfortable. That's how I felt too. However, after driving around 2-3 hours in a 2023 limited, my back start hurting, and there was no lumbar support to adjust. Limited seats are same as Trd pro

I actually find the seats quite good. I have a back injury, but am in pretty decent shape. My Acura seats are much softer, which is great for short drives. Driving 5 hours straight, my back causes quite discomfort. Not sure if it’s the stiffer seats, or the leg support, but driving same time in the tundra I don’t get this.

    TLDR seat comfort is subjective.

    Lots of stuff!
My wife's new VW has a crazy nice seats with a massaging feature!

Our Limited seats seem pretty good for longer drives. I thought there is a lower lumbar section that can be adjusted?? I will have to check mine again.

Limited has basic lumbar adjustment, it sticks in or out.
Platinum and 1794 leather seats have this same lumbar adjustment but it also moves up and down

I find the opposite. I've been in 4Runners for the past decade. My wife's driven Audis or Subarus. The Subaru seats are utilitarian. They're fine, nothing special. The Audi seats, with their sporty bolsters, are much too stiff and narrow for long drives (the S line, anyway, which is what she drove). The 4Runners were a bit more plush, but also on the utilitarian side. Softer than my '23 limited seats, however, the increased dimensions of the tundra seats lends to much more comfortable long drives. The 9 hour drive to my in-laws are very pleasant.

The cloth seats in my '03 SR5 tundra remain the most comfortable seats I've ever had. I weigh the same now as I did in '03, so I don't think my dimensions have changed appreciably.

I can’t get comfortable in mine. I don’t believe any amount of test driving would have helped. You would assume there would be a break in period. I’m constantly moving around as I drive trying to find the sweet spot.

One of the many reasons I settled on Limited over Plat or 1794 was seat comfort. I’m 6’2” 205 and found seat bottoms too firm and I could feel the frame or something in seat bottom on higher trims. I loved the way 1794 interior looked but no go on comfort. I have driven nonstop all day on long trips in mine and never get saddle sore or have a stiff back. Heated and cooled Softex are the most comfortable seats on a 3rd gen Tundra IMO.

Suggestions? Try to turn on heated seats on one... That may help.

I'm also not a fan of my 1794 seat - very thin padding and middle part feels like I'm sitting on a piece of plywood. Sometimes it feels ok and I think I'm just getting used to my uncomfortable seat...

Foam pass didn't work for me tried two different ones from Amazon.

On a positive note, the Lumbar support is very good and 4 way adjustable.

I test drove a limited for a few hours, and my back start hurting us lumbar support was mediocre and wasn't height adjustable as my 1794.

And to further complain, the driving position is far worse than in my old ram 1500. Especially when turning on mountain roads, the 1500 seat position made it easier and more precise to control the steering wheel versus Tundra... Feels that my arms and elbows are hanging more, without resting on point of support such as armrest, so it's harder to precisely control the steering wheel at sharp mountain turns at high speeds.

I just drove 3 hours and my seats in my limited were way more comfortable than my old Tacoma. The whole ride was actually very pleasant and never experienced any pain of any kind. I thought people liked the leather seats of the 1794 and platinum over the the softtex

I recently bought a 2022 1794. I typically drive 5-7 hours at a time between Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas. I love the look of the saddle leather seats and the fact they are heated and cooled, but after an hour or so it feels like I am sitting on a piece of plywood.

I'm having an identical experience with my drivers seat. I leave the seat heater on 1. Still haven't found a good seat setting. There is something hard above the lumbar. It makes noise when I shift around too.
    Im 5'5" 150lbs

All of the following seats were better
    10 silverado, 12 wrangler, 14 highlander, 18 4runner, 08 ISF, 18 BMW M2, 18 taco

This is funny because my service manager basically said bring it in and they would do the same.

After what I spent on this truck and insisting on this exact high level trim pkg I am too ashamed to tell anyone other than y'all it sucks. I get "truck butt" after about an hour. My butt cheeks go to sleep. My back is fine. I am 6'7, 245lbs. I'm thinking about some kind of gel pad installed under the leather. I don't care about the heat/cool holes being blocked.

+1 but I'm getting used to it now after 1.5 years
The bottom part of the seat feels like very thin padding on top of the plywood...

I'd say throughout the years my seats have gotten less comfortable. My 2023 is fine really, but nothing special. Honestly my biggest complaint about the seating isn't the seat, but the space available for my legs. The center console is too wide leaving no level spot to set my foot while cruise is on. I cannot put my right foot flat on the floorboard and it's annoying.

My 2007 was better, a good seat I suppose, but really I miss my 2003 T3 Special Edition Tundra seats. I don't know why, but they were by far the most comfortable seats I've owned in any vehicle. I miss the T3...hell I miss all my previous pickups.

yeah, the height is going to mess up all kinds of other parts of seating position. I've tried 4 different cushions at this point.

Maybe you just don't have the right amount of cushion in your hiney. Coming from a 2020 taco with cloth seats, those were the most uncomfortable/hardest seats I've ever had. The leather seats in my 23 plat tundra are much better and super comfy on trips. I mean it's still a truck, if comfort is the priority then there are plenty of luxury cars out there. I've also heard good things about custom seat covers like katskins with added padding.
