Seeking knowledge .. I have the 2018 sr5 with the halogen headlights with the bottom strip LED daytime running lights.. so if i just bought new LED bulbs would the light output be close to the OEM LED headlights from toyota ??
it looks like the new LED headlights with the wrap around LED daytime running lights would run me about 700$ with the i hacker harness ..

also what’s the best brand of LED bulbs .. thanks y’all

The halogen reflectors aren't made for LED bulbs, it'd be a gamble.

I put Auxbeam led bulbs in mine. The fog lights are an improvement, but I'm not overly impressed with the headlights. They are are a couple of other users with these same bulbs and are happy with them. To me, they are dimmer than the factory halogen. The bright beam also does not have the spread as the factory halogen. If I had the extra $$, I would do the OEM Led Headlights or HID retrofit.

Coming from a Tundra owner that has the LED headlights - definitely buy the OEM LED headlights. They are amazingly bright at night and look bad ass. You can try switching out bulbs, but in my experience it's always hit or miss. Some bulbs last a while, some bulbs look different than advertised, some bulbs burn out fast - you just never know what you'll get sometimes. I feel like the OEM LED units have the perfect color, plus there are matching OEM fog lights you can potentially get, too.

If you're going to keep the same headlamp housing then a brighter halogen would be a better choice over using a light designed with different optics in mind.

LED bulbs wont even come close to the OEM full LED headlights. Plus it's really not good practice to put LED bulbs in halogen housings, youd better off running high quality halogens or even upgrading your headlight wiring harness to handle 55+w halogen bulbs than dropping in LED bulbs. Like these guys said. You could also do an HID or LED projector retrofit but that'll have you up around 700 bucks as well or even more.

I put the Auxbeam LED bulbs in (with the correct side facing up) on my 2019 with Halogen/ LED housings and the difference is just short of amazing. I replaced the headlight and fog bulbs for around $55 from Amazon and have crossed the $700 OEM LEDs off my wish list.

I did the LED swap on my 17. I found the light to be 10 times better. I purchased the Super Nova V4 by Headlight Revolution. I wanted to save some money at the time. We are buying a house. Here are some pics of the V4 in the truck. Last photo is V4 in the fog. Overall I am pleased with them.

Just V4 for headlights. Baja Designs Squadron Sport for fog lights. They they throw excellent light. V4 can touch these.

I tried the Super Nova V4 first, but hated the light scattering you see in alpinepro4's photo - high wide left - into oncoming traffic. Even got flashed by truckers.
( I may post them on here for sale since no longer using them. Tried for a month and they just didn't work for me.)
Went to 2018 OEM LEDs, and couldn't be happier. Completely different price point, but well worth it IMHO.

I see what you mean, they seem to be working for now. Like you I will probably sell them and go with 19 OEM lights. I will probably wait till Summer to install them. So far I haven't been flashed at all.
