    Hello from Vacaville Ca.
My Tundra is basically stock aside from its sprayed on bed liner, Nerf bar side steps, tonneau cover, and interior storage organizer. I did recently add under railing led lights to the bed which are an awesome addition. My question is, I swapped out the cargo factory bulbs to led bulbs and now the key fob won’t lock the doors. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

    Welcome from NY.
That has been a common problem with some 2018+ Tundras. I believe VLEDS came out with a bulb that doesn't interfere with the key fob/locks.

Search out some thread in the Lighting section or general search and you will find others.

It's usually the Cab Break Light bulb that interferes with the FOB distance/range. I had the same issue, tried a different brand bulb and it worked perfectly.

Yes, you need to get VLeds. They have something in them that doesn’t interfere with the transmitter that is in the roof right near your cargo lights. It’s definitely the bulbs you have messing it up. Mine did the same

Make sure they’re Canbus LEDs. Switch them to off setting instead of door to see if issue is resolved.

I would contact the company of the bulb manufacturer and see if they have bulbs that will not interfere. I had to do this with the Fyre Flys from Amazon. They sent out some new cargo lights that did not interfere.

Turn the cargo light switch to off.

Now try the key fob and see if it works.

    Function before sparkle.
As others have said, common issue across many brands of vehicles with cheap LEDs. @Jim LE 1301 gave an easy way to confirm.

Thanks all! I have some research to do but I'm confident the problem will be resolved with your information.

Odd things can happen to a Tundra with LED bulb swap ins....Some brands have issues, some dont but there are a ton of threads here where folks had some really strange issues, seemingly random, and the cause was a LED bulb somewhere.

I didn’t know this was a possible issue, but the VLEDs I have work great in my 2018.

Yes is has to do with the resistors on the led bulbs. I had the same problem. I got mine from fire flye on Amazon.

The first set I purchased off Amazon caused the same issue with my key fob. I wasn’t able to lock or unlock the truck if the cargos light were on. If I turned the cargo lights off from the inside, it would work again. I definitely wanted to fix this issue before the Alaskan winter hit.

I decided to purchase another set (from a different manufacturer) and they worked great….no more key fob issues. These are the ones that did work: https://amzn.to/3xTns6H
