I have a 2023 Platinum that I bought a Leer topper for. The topper dealership cannot wire the topper to the Tundra for some reason. Can't seem to make the proper connections. Has anyone else had a similar problem?

There are several folks on here with toppers that have been wired to their trucks.

If they don't know what they are doing, I'd just go this route.

Take it some where else. If the topper dealership is unable to hook up lights it's probably best to move along.

You've got an incompetent shop. They make up excuses not to do a little bit of research or trying...

My shop installed camper shell no problem and wired camper door locks so it locks unlocks from my fob.

Agreed with the others here. I have a Leer 100XR and have had it for about 7-8 months. Zero problems with the wiring. Leer even makes a mid 7-pin connector harness that makes it super simple.

Don't let them feed you any bull about the complexity of wiring on a hybrid either. I don't have a hybrid, but I've already seen a lot of hybrids with Leer toppers.

Unfortunately, it sounds like you've got a terrible shop on your hands.

First hybrid with a topper here, took the dealership some back and forth with leer and a new harness but they knocked it out last year! Your shop just sucks

Just got my leer and wired up. Has DC ports and the key fob locking. It took them a bit longer than normal they said but they did it.

Same experience here. Got mine installed last November. It took a bit for my shop to sort it all out but they dialed it in. All the lights and the lock work great. It can certainly be done and as another poster mentioned, if your shop says they can't do it ask them for an install credit and take it to someone who can.

I started this thread... Good news is that after the THIRD time in the Leer dealership shop, they got the interior dome light and the third stop light working. Is it really that hard?

They probably have monkeys working for them, any real aftermarket shop tech would know where to get a tap for any kind of accessories, beacons, lights etc.. I ordered a "ROO LIGHT" switch for my lightbar and Beacon switch that fit nicely in the left switches panel. Wired those in direct from battery and fuse relay. Light Bar and Beacon but run on their own switches and work well.

It alarms me that a "Truck cap" company that sells caps for a living couldn't figure out how to get the lights working.

Id be scared of your "Third" time in on how they achieved this hopefully they didn't tie into a specifically needed 12v tap somewhere and called it a day.
