I have another truck that has an 8' bed. It does not have a bed liner and I am looking at two options.

The first one is Leonard. It is closer to my budget, and I can get it for about $587ish dollars.

My other option is Rhino Tough Liner but that is going to be around $700ish.

I don't know if anyone has had both, or what you all recommend, but I would appreciate your advice and thoughts on both of these liners. Which would you go with? Thanks.

I have a Rhino. If it peels, it peels with the paint.

Thank you both for your comments.

Since I posted, the decision was kinda made and have a schedule to put a Rhino liner in the bed on Jan. 7th.

As for Line-X, the only shop that is near me was about two hours away or so. The one that was here shut down. I did find a contact number with them and spoke to the old owner. He recommended Rhino. So that worked for a recommendation. The Rhino applicators here came with a high praise from the Line-X guy, and it is right down the street from me.

Just saw this as I was typing the other one.

I thought about a DIY, but I doubt my own abilities. And from what I was seeing online, it takes more prep than I have time for, to do it right. I am afraid I would mess it up. Plus, with Rhino I have a nationwide warranty.

I did a bunch of Raptors, peels lot easier than machine-applied Rhino. Also Rhino is thick and soft to touch, which is better for bed.

It's all about the prep. The product will work great, but requires taping off, cleaning, degreasing, scuffing, cleaning again, and then tacking before product application to get the best result.

We've done a jeep inside and some outside panels for protection and a GM bed and rails. Both held up for the entire ownership without flaking or peeling. Tough stuff. Can also get it pre-tinted to do color match.

Oh, and the entire samurai was done in Raptor, but we had a painter down the road do it for us after some body work

Yeah. I did my skids in summer, in higher humidity. Raptor traps a tiny bit of moisture that causes corrosion. I cleaned the skids to shiny metal with flap disks, etched then applied a zinc primer and then Raptor. But what I can see is zinc is consumed first then corrosion spreads to steel and from here it goes downhill. Looking at mall conquerors (lifted Jeeps) I see same thing happening to them. I.e. real good stuff for offroading, but needs to be done in a clean room with controlled humidity. Or in arid climate at least. So my choice would be any process that uses a lot of heat in application, to aid with moisture removal. Like Rhino.

Did cellar doors in fall, in lower humidity, it holds well.

Powder coating does not hold at all in New England climate.

Disgruntled ex employee. Sad. Up here it’s Line-x 10-1 over Rhino. Only thing I’ve seen in Tundras is Line-X. I’ve not seen Rhino in a single truck.

Yes, and the prep work was the part I was not sure I had the time, or ability to do. I asked around for someone who knew how to do it so I could have them walk me through it (I learn by watching, but I learn best by doing), and I could not find anyone. So, here is where I am going.

I do remember the vehicle. That was nice and wish I had the money, at the time to get it. But here we are. I am glad you sold it for what you were asking!

Ex on Leonard, Rhino, or Line-X?

Most recommended Line-X in another forum I am on, but since I did not have the ability to drive the two hours, wait, and then get back, I was down to Rhino and Leonard. The push to Rhino (which is more expensive) was the Line-X owner who recommended them. I had already been in to talk with them, and they seemed very knowledgeable, and they had the setup to care for moisture, and humidity. Thankfully I am not in the North East so I can avoid that a little!

I will also see if they can do a liner along the bottom of the truck to add some protection, but I am not sure if they will. That will be another day another option.

    lots of dents
I guess it also depends upon why you’re wanting to have a spray in bedliner. If you’re planning on beating the crap out of your bed with rocks and concrete blocks, then you’d make the 2 hour one way trip to get a line-x installed. If you’re going easy on the bed, then go with another brand.

The truck bed is used as a truck bed. Hauling wood, rocks, mulch, camping gear, fishing gear, hunting gear, and any dead critters I may get with that hunting gear :).

Line-X, I know, has a reputation for being hard and tough. Rhino has several different varieties. When I spoke with the installer, I asked them about this because I was concerned it would be too soft.

He said they only use the hardest version available. I don't remember which one it was.

It was either this one: https://rhinolinings.com/liners/hardline/

    Or

    This one: https://rhinolinings.com/liners/extreme/

If I remember correctly, it was the first one. Which ever one, they said it was the only one they use because it matched LineX the best.

ETA: It is the hardline (the first link). I wanted to ask how it relates to Line-X and was told it was about the same but without knowing ratios of chemicals, they can't say for sure. However, they have a lifetime warranty and will cover any damage from use.

I have this one. Wood, rocks, mulch, metal recycling, camping gear, hunting gear, rain, mud, snow, ice, spilling gasoline, oil, spirits, sea water, pee and poop, -15 to 110 F - for the past 5 years and going strong.
