Thinking about putting my Grizzly in the bed of my CM. I would need to leave the tailgate down. I see some hitch attachments that hold it.

I just use tie downs, but I feel super unsafe with it back there because the tailgate won't close since it's like two inches too long. I looked into the trailer hitch things, but they look heavy. I will likely get a trailer next spring!

Assuming it's not yours since it's on a GM but do you know how that attaches? That's pretty cool if for someone that regularly takes their ATV places.

Pretty easy DIY though. That said, a trailer obviously has so many more uses and can go to another vehicle should the need arise. So, I agree. However, some people just can't do a trailer for numerous reason, so this provides another option.

No, not mine. I will walk long before I drive or own a GM. Attachment, not sure, I just see it working for the right situation.

HAHA, no that was 100 percent a coincidence!! Sold my old one last summer just because it was getting on the older side, started casually looking for a new one in the fall of last year, trying to beat the spring shoppers. I could not find an ATV to buy anywhere, they were all selling before they hit the showroom or the day they went on ( I also wanted the 450 DPS or one in the 500 range, which is popular). Anywho, January this year I took my vehicle in for service, and after that was done I randomly decided to stop into the Can Am dealership to see what they had available, and I intended to just replace my 450 DPS with a new one same model. Anywho, I showed up to the dealer and they had this very nice 2023 Can Am 570 XT in the showroom waiting for me, my eyes nearly bugged out of my head because it was like finding a unicorn, and I bargained with them and told them I would sign papers that day if they sold it to me for 10K OTD (no sales tax in my state) and they agreed to it. It was legit nearly impossible to find a desirable ATV last fall/winter, and probably now as well. Long story long, it was just by chance the one I found matches my truck... makes a good pair!

Just sold a klx140 rf. Was a great bike and plenty of power and fun to ride. Cold blooded though. It preferred to sit on the choke for a good 5mins and then just sit and idle for another 5-10mins before it was warm enough to ride.

    Hey there,

I know this is an old thread. I noticed your setup and was really curious how it handled? Mine will practically be the same. Primarily I’m concerned of the transmission cooler removal in the newer trucks. Just curious if you had any issues hauling I plan on taking a long trip and just seeing if anyone else has experienced issues hauling in this same scenario. Thanks!

I haven't hauled mine in the bed like my above post for more than 30 miles but no issues. I'm about 3 inches past the bed so the weight is in the bed not the tailgate.

At ~500lbs in the bed, I have zero concerns regarding no transmission cooler. The transmission cooler is a highly debated topic on these forums (search in the search bar and you can find days and days worth of reading on it.) As long as you're ok with the tailgate down, there's no real issues. Or as others have said, a small utility trailer is an option too since they're really light.

To put it in perspective, two average sized american adult males weight roughly the same as a quad. Your truck will be totally fine hauling passengers as well as an ATV.

A 500lb atv in a truck bed has almost zero aerodynamic affect on the truck. Your truck wont know its there. A travel trailer is like you trying to run with a parachute attached to your belt, its not just the weight of the trailer.

a 5000lb empty flatbed car hauler is very easy to tow compared to a 4000lb travel trailer
