Came from a 2012 JBL w/ NAV Headunit.

    Jensen CAR110W
    Metra 99-8220
    PAC RP4.2-TY11

Rear Cam doesn't work (didn't realize an adapter was needed... it comes in later this week) AX-TOYCAM2 (This fixed the rear camera)
USB doesn't work (didn't realize an adapter was needed... also comes in later this week) PAC USB-TY2 (This didn't fit, despite it was supposed to)
Using the GPS that came with the Jensen CAR110W, I have an adapter HFC to FAKRA Male) as I finally found out what connectors I had... also comes in later. (this worked, now using the factory GPS mounted on the roof).

It's installed sticking "mid-way" out. Overall it works well. I am not 100% happy with it, but not unhappy enough to return it. When on the "Jensen" side of the app, it's pretty slow, and moves along slowy. Once you get into the Carplay (connects every time really well, etc) it works just fine without any hiccups.

    Things I wish it had:
    • Built in Mic, don't know why it couldn't just have a boom mic at each top corner...
    • Displayed Radio Station names / Song Names
    • Higher Resolution
    • Brighter (these pics are pretty much worse case scenario I've seen so far where the light is coming in from the back window)

For the price $469... I feel it's good enough. I may suggest sticking with the 9" version so the low resolution isn't as obvious and the thing would probably tilt towards the driver better. Who know?

    IMG_0768.jpg IMG_0766.jpg IMG_0763.jpg

Updated: Added info on which adapters worked.

Did you ever get your steering wheel controls to work? I recently got an android unit that looks a lot like that one but it seems that’s the only thing I can’t get to work are the steering wheel controls as well..

No I never did get the steering wheel controls to work. The wife said don’t worry about it.

Need to update it and get backup camera working
    It’s a Sony XAV-AZ100
Previous owner installed it. It’s nice but I’m used to my bigger screen in my Malibu and not having the screen 10 feet away. My daughter loves playing with the remote.

reviving this thread - installed the Boss BE9ACP 9" - for $300 and the features it was a pretty good deal. They are built cheaply though, I had to have crutchfield send a replacement screen, other than that no issues with it.

Front and rear cameras hooked up, I put the omnidirectional mic in the otherwise useless pocket in front of the shifter and it seems to work great there.

Personally no issues at all with glare after using it for a couple weeks.

It's compatible with SWC but I don't have them unfortunately

Need to put a USB port in a front button

That's a nice fitting unit. Really like that one! I read that it doesn't connect wirelessly to your phone, other than that, looks great for the money and it's an all-in unit. Pretty much...

I wish it were that easy. I got mine online and had it shipped to the store. Had already talked to the manager about the pricing. He said if it shows up they’d cancel my order and sell it to me for the internal price. I would keep checking the website, you never know if it might pop back in stock. I got really lucky.

Looking at getting this one. Does the steering wheel controls still work after install?

Lurker here. First post. I have a 2011 CrewMax. No steering wheel controls. No real need for them. Suggestions for a head unit that has Android Auto and will interface with my truck without cutting the harness? 9 or 10" screen preferably. Would like to not break the bank, so want to keep it under $400. Anything out there that fits my needs?

There are probably a few options. The Joying I bought and posted about in post #7 fits the bill. https://www.tundras.com/threads/let’s-see-all-aftermarket-head-units-installed.121521/#post-3116438
10.1", Android Auto, they give you harnesses that plug right in so no cutting. I prefer a head unit that isn't floating and conforms with the dash curves. Right now with the 8% off it is just a few dollars under $400

Was there a huge sale at this time? Best Buy is showing the 7” on sale for 299 but the 11” is 1399.00,that’s a huge difference

Will the JBL head unit from a 2012 simply plug and play in a non-JBL truck mentioned above or is there a difference like external amps? I seem to recall this from the mega 2023 HU thread.

Went with the Joying 10.1". They made me a harness that worked pretty well (Type F). I found a GPS adapter to use the factory GPS, and an adapter to use the factory USB connector. I was very happy with Joyings support. Looks like they've got a new version that uses Android 12. They told me the Android 10 version cannot be updated to 12.

I saw the newer Joying for Tundra the other day on the web. It looks nice (bigger screen and Android 12), but no physical volume knob and it has more of a floating screen (especially at the bottom where the 10.1" Joying is flush).
