Hello Folks! I recently bought my first tundra about 3 months ago and had some questions on the current lift setup vs switching to a "newer lift" setup.

The current setup on my truck is the "poor man lift" 1f603_398273c7e9ebf5d2a6dcf491921d77cdd3ef805b.png. Its just a spacer lift on the front which I think is 1.5 to 2 in. The rear is just a 1.5 (AAF) add a leaf on OEM shocks. Will there by any issues in the future that I would need to worry about? I dont do any off roading and tow on occasion my 4 wheelers.

If I were to switch to another lift, Id probably want a 3in lift. Whats a good lift that doesn't break the bank?

I'd personally say to just get some bilstein 5100s or 6112s and get rid of the rear lift. It sounds like you haul multiple 4 wheelers (on occasion) which makes me believe you utilize a trailer for that. So it doesn't seem you'd need the add a leaf when it will prob help your ride run smoother. I've understood the extra leaf stiffens up the ride a bit, but are good to have when having a load in the bed. Scrap the lift, get the bilsteins, and enjoy a leveled out ride that's smoother.

I didn't see which year you got, so I'm assuming between 2007 and 2021....but I'm leaving more towards a 2012 or so model....just a guess

I have a 2014 Tundra CM 5.7L V8. Yes, I utilize a trailer. I dont necessarily want to get rid of the lift :/

I am completely new to tundras, as this is my first truck EVER. Ive always had 4runners. Will the bilstein 5100s or 6112s provide a lift at all? What are the differences in those?

You can go with 6112s (the shocks come with new coils mounted) or 5100s where you swap your coils over and change the spring perch on the shock to the desired level of lift (there are 3 levels with the highest level yielding about 2.25-2.5" of lift). 5100s are cheaper but the 6112s are nice because they come fully assembled and ready to go. The rear is easier - go with the RAS (Roadmaster Active Suspension) system which is actually designed for towing and will give you about an inch or so of lift in the rear.

6112s seemed to be beefier providing a nicer ride on and off road. but if you're not doing a lot of rough driving, the 5100s provide you the slight front lift as well as a nice ride....especially over a spacer lift.
if you're wanting to keep the lift in the back that has about 1.5" of lift, then you do the fronts of around 2.5, you'll still have some rake to the truck. if you're cool with that, then go ahead and keep it. again, the add-a-leaf system will stiffen up the ride a bit, but if you don't notice it or feel its bad, keep it.
also, the 5100s/6112s are a more budget friendly setup that many are happy with it. there are higher end ones, but you can fork over some serious coin with those.

if you don't mind, post a pic of your ride. i'm kinda curious of the setup it looks like with the add-a-leaf and the front spacer kit.

where is the best place to purchase the 6112s? I guess my ultimate goal is I still want to keep the lift portion, but dont want to have shock failure either. I dont think I would like the rake portion that you are talking about. I dont trailer all the time, only to go riding which is like once or twice a month if that. Other than that, its just to ride around town. Im only pulling my four wheeler and my sons.

not sure of best place to purchase. but i'd make sure from a reputable place. don't need to deal with a sketchy place to save $20

so Im looking at the B8 5100 and 6112s. the 6112s are a little outside my budget. Is it common to run the 5100s on front and rear?

I went ahead and purchased the 5100s. potentially looking at front springs as well.

Pro-Lift-Kit Front Springs Kit w/2.5" lift - any recommendations on what I should do with the rear?

I can't remember what is ran in the rears. But im sure Google could direct you to the rear bilsteins by plugging in year and all. When I did my 6" lift on my last tundra, it was the 5160s that came with the kit for the rear. But again, that was paired with the 6" lift kit from ReadyLift
