Hello everyone, I just got my 2022 SR5 4x4 with AVS/Air ride suspension. Ive been watching YouTube videos and came across the Westcott designs lift kit for avs. I've also just signed up with this forum and have been reading some articles in which you some of yall talk about a lift kit for the avs suspension made by AFE? (I think I got that right?). Can anybody shed some light on these kits for me? Is one better than the other? More budget friendly? My end goal is to level out my truck and be able to fit 35x12.5R17 on my new truck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Anyone have any pics of there 22 Tundra with avs set up like I'm trying to do to mine? Thanks in advance

One slight correction. AVS is Adaptive Variable Suspension and that's only available on upper trims like platinum, 1794, capstone, etc. Not Limited and down trims. AVS is basically electronically controlled dampening/rebound that's available in two Drive Modes. So when changing Drive Mode to Comfort, shocks elect adjust to be a more plush ride. When changing to Sport+ mode it will stiffen up for better reaction and a tighter feel. What you have is Rear Air Leveling which is the air bag system to level out when towing. No AVS.

You can confirm if you have AVS by changing your Drive Mode to Comfort or Sport+ and you should see this in the console and shocks are highlighted. I believe what you are looking for is a level/lift system that is compatible with the factory Rear Air Leveling, sans AVS.

You could contact Westcott and ask if the rear level arms they make for the AVS kit is compatible if you just have rear air leveling. Then maybe you just by the rear arms versus the whole kit. The whole kit includes preload collars for the front that support AVS and in that case you have to specify which manu shock you have. Tokiko or Hitachi iirc.

Wow man! I cannot thank you enough. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and taking your time to help out a stranger. The world needs more people like you. You're absolutely correct about everything. You just saved me so much time and money and frustration. I was literally hours away from purchasing all the wrong things for my truck. I am truly grateful.

Also, the AFE arms that are sold can be purchased and used in addition to the Westcott kit. In that case you would just buy the front only kit. Those arms raise the neutral height of the rear (adding more psi to the bags) to provide an inexpensive rear lift.

There are a few threads here that outline everything in much more detail.

I pieced my lift on my own.. i did rough country's 1.75 in the front and AFE brackets in the back. significantly cheaper than Westcott. You could argue that Westcott preload collar is better, but at the end of the day your still adding a block to the front

Chiming in here to see if anyone has had any issues with their CV's using a spacer like the Rough County 1.75" lift with AVS? I was planning on going with that and adjusting the rear air suspension as needed but am curious if anyone has seen issues using that light off-roading. I was thinking about doing the 1.75" lift and adding the TRD upper arms and extended lower CVs to avoid beating them up too bad on a light trail, etc. I'm not very experienced with modifying them though so this is just a solution I thought could help based on my reading. Would be very interested to learn anyone else's thoughts.

The most I would do with a spacer lift is gravel roads

I've long wondered the same thing. Seems that any lift that changes the CV angle is asking for trouble in the long run.

That's what I've gathered from my research so far. Any specific reason you would share for why? Just for my own education really. Also, do you think what I mentioned above would solve the problem or not at all?

Hopefully someone can give some feedback on if that could/would work or not. I've seen some videos of people with **$%ed up CVs because they offroad with a spacer. Ideally I could disable the AVS in the front and just replace it with TRD parts to get that extra 1" I want and the capability.

I have a platinum with air ride / avs set up. I want to lift it to fit 35”. Only plan on doing city driving and highway. Which lift kit set is available?

A simple strut spacer is all you'd need

Probably a total noob question but why does my 23 TRD Pro have the rear leveling arm and sensor like the trims with AVS? It obviously does not have the factory AVS so I am assuming it provides additional data to the computer regarding current ride height, suspension travel, etc.?
